Etac-Reg with 47 ci Tank

Hi there. I have been reading this forum for a while. I purchased a .25 Condor from Tony’s with most of the mods. I also purchased 3 Etac-Regs from Jim. To make them work I found a tank that would be bigger and also keep it the same length with the reg. I had to put 18×1.5mm threads in the tank to keep it all the same. After seeing pictures of the Wok butt I decided that I would make something similar. The only reason I didn’t purchase one is I needed 4. I do have a Wok Guard. So I made some disc’s and JB welded them to the end and made all the other pieces. I also modified the regs so the fill and the gauge are oppisite sides. Then I shimed them so they all clock in the right place. I made a jig to turn down shims in the lathe to the right diameter. Also made them for the valve because of the muliple tanks reclocking the gun won’t work. Now I just need to get out and figure out what it shoots on 2000, 2300, and 2500 regs on different pellets. It shoots 43 gr at just over a 1000 fps.

John used to carry them before, I guess he sold them all out. Not sure if he will get more to sell or not, the 53ci bottle will become a hard to find now a day.

I may have some for sale later.

Tank is catalina 9098. $70.00 and change. Ordered them from Evergreen Midwest. 2 things, tanks is 5/8-18 and mine has been rethreaded to 18×1.5mm so I can run a regular Etac or the Etac-reg. Second you have to machine the end of the tank to clear the gauge. Tank is real fat at the threads. If you look at one of the pic’s I posted you will see where I machined it. I think I’m going to get rid of a couple of the 47 ci tanks with the but on them. I have 3 47’s and 3 53’s. 47’s are for my Logun S-16 and 53’s are for the Condor. The 47 with the Etac-Reg is same size as stock tank.

Finished up the 53 ci tanks today. Wanted to make sure the JB weld got it’s 24 hour dry time now that it is a lot cooler now.

That’s really nice Dyotat100 , and welcome.
i have been trying to make up my mind on which reg pressure to get, it would be cool to have two or three set up for different psi and pellet weights.

For the 53 ci tanks I will make the but one piece with the bends part of it for your arm.

Had to machine the end of the tank to clear the gauges. These tanks are real fat where the thread are compared to the 47 ci tanks.

Started working on 53 ci tanks today. Kinda long with the Etac-Reg setup. With just Etac it is same as stock tank. I came up with a way to shorten up LOP with my version of the Wokbutt. I also shortened up my Logun S-16 tank by a 1″.

I took out the 5000 burst disc and just retapped it 1/8 pipe. The original tread is 3/8-28. 1/8 pipe is 27. I took a tap and cut of the end to make it a bottom tap. I take a regular tap and run it til it hits bottom. Then I take the modified tap and run it in. You have to be careful and make sure you don’t go to deep with the tap or the gauge will bottom out and not get tight. If you have to do it on the fill side you need to make the hole deeper for the check valve to open. I did this in my mill with a 1/4 end mill. Centered it in the middle and cut out about .100 so the check valve can open all the way. The end mill is bigger than the check valve. Then I put a flush 1/8 pipe plug in the original hole. I have 3 regs and 1 is 180 degrees opposite of the other 2. I also cut shims to clock the reg in the Etac so it all lines up.
