Evanix renegade pistol.
I was looking through pyramid, and saw the evanix renegade pistol http://pyramydair.com/p/evanix-renegade-air-pistol.shtml
It says it gets 20 shots per fill, at 840 fps, could that really be possible?
I was thinking about getting an FX ranchero, but this thing seems pretty close the the fx, but half the price.
Any body have one, or read any real world reviews?

Closer to $400 if you want a steel breech.. which I think most would want.
I knew he was backlogged… but that roughly $350 for a SWEET PCP pistol. May be worth waiting on.
And Cyg… The Crosman triggers CAN be made to be great. Steve NC designed a couple of items to make them acceptable… but Art Braden has worked on one of my 22xx pistols and used a prototype trigger (this was several years back) that absolutely was the cats ass. Every bit as good as many triggers currently on PCP’s now. I’d liken it very close to an Air Arms trigger on feel….
When I asked Joe on July 1st the price was $300, you supply the gun and he has a backlog of 1 year…
Wait your turn π
LOL…I’m sure you will have one long before me. π
Pat,
That is because your allowance is not as much. π

That Joe Bontranger is next on my list of “gota have guns” π
is it possible to make a crosman trigger worth anything ?
now this should be a very interesting pistol

i all most dumped my money on one yestday as coupons where alowed…but decided to wait a bit and see what people think…plus for that kind of money theres the different versions of the rΓΆhm twinmasters, some of the under 600 too
of course it would have to be tuned into a .25 monster at 30 fpe…. π
Last I heard, complete pistols were around the $300 mark… but again, you’ll need to talk to Joe regarding current pricing………
The Black Pepper laminate on his site is mine as well….
Just spent some time looking through his site. Damn this guy does some beautiful work. If the complete pistol isn’t too much more than $400, I will definitely get one.
Thanks a lot Rob.
Talk to Joe Bontranger on the Crosman conversion… He is busy and there is a wait on it, but it’s well worth the wait. This one is the first that he made… I got it back when he wasnt as well known and I really like it…
Far as price, you’ll need to speak with Joe, but I can say that you’ll likely be able to get 3 or 4 of these for the same price as one of the Rancheros….

Tell him Rob sent you.
Is that a PCP crosman conversion? how much?
Regarding pistols….
I have an FN8 Falcon…. as a pistol, it really does not cut it. I get around 20 shots at 600fps out of it and it’s LASER accurate… I put an LW stock on it and as a carbine, it’s great and I love it. As a pistol, it was far too clunky.

May want to look into some of the Crosman conversions. I’m getting around 20 good shots out of this one at around 800fps, or I can adjust fill pressure and get up to 40 shots at around 640fps, both using 14.3gr pellets.

Bikini,
First of remember pistols usually suck and lack in power and accuracy. My tuned crosman’s and my LD have the accuracy to shoot birds and rats, stuff like that.
The FX Ranchero would be awesome but at a $1095 you would be a little nucking fudder to buy one. But it has what you want.
Personally if I was going to spend a grand on an airgun it would not be a pistol.
If you do have your heart set on a pistol look at these

nitpicker…. π Yes, you are correct. The steel breech is all but mandatory.
As an aside, if one is comfortable working on Crosmans, Joe has offered just the tubes in the past, but I dont know if he still does or not.
Another option is Jack Haley. Last time I spoke with Jack about a week ago, he stated that he dont particularly like to do Crosman tubes, but he will do them. The tubes contain a custom valve.
A word of note to anyone considering a Crosman conversion. You will want to go with an RJ or Crosman breech. The Crooked Barn breeches are great, but the aluminum tends to bind under pressure and often, the hammerspring is much stronger on the conversions than stock guns. Note on my Crosman, I had a seperate pull back cocking mechanism installed because it was near impossible to cock using the bolt on the CB breech.
