exploding pellets
have any of you guys tried making them or maybe tried some of the store bought kind ?
theres a guy on youtube filling hollowpoint pellets with toygun snap caps powder and getting them to explode in clay and shit

Funny you say that, to me graphic is implied at TAG, hell anything by Cyg that has “exploding” in the title is going to be graphic! It will either be a decimated tree rat or a nuclear diaper. 😆 But it didn’t even occur to me when I opened the topic, I just knew something was up and it was going to be epic!!

It’s actually really funny that Shaky thinks Tof’s answer was “civil” since what Shaky really meant to say with his creates a firearm question is that doing this to a pellet would be considered creating an explosive device and Tof said only an “asshole” would think it was… 😉

FYI, explosive device was the proper term as Tof mentioned… If your going to mention something is illegal at least get the law somewhat straight.

Ive seen what those things do and no powder needed, but for the fun factor and as much as you could put in the top of one, it would make a nice bang and maybe a little more splatt.

No, a pellet is still PROPELLED by air and not an expanding gas like burning gun powder. if anything, some asshole would consider the pellet an explosive device or incendiary ammo or something. BUT SERIOUSLY, who is gonna catch ya or be watching you. When you do stuff like this just be somewhat smart about it and no one of authority will ever know.
Primers have an ANVIL in them which when smashed pretty fast (600 MPH speed of a pellet slamming into something) ignites the primer pretty well. Never really shot FLESH with them but, im quite sure that hitting the SKULL of an animal would set one off. Grab a 25 cal crow magnum and some glue then put in a magnum primer with the anvil facing FORWARD and some glue on the back of the primer and put it in the CM pellet and try it out. Also gives the CM more weight obviously too.
It’s ok but damn its tedious sitting there gluing primers into pellets.
