Fish Bone Frame insert
I wanted something that could give me more spaces than drilling circles so I’m trying slots instead – Once one side is done, will turn it over and do the otherside. Hopefully my reasoning for the fishbone name is obvious.
I cant decide between just continuing with the current pattern or making a few larger slots or somewhere inbetween – Suggestions on what you guys think would be more effective are welcome !

Bet ya that I can mill it faster using nothing that the power feed than you can chuck it up and put in the code!!! 😆
You got a lathe? I’m thinking that you could turn one of these down just a little where the baffles are before or after cutting the baffles, and have the room for wrapping it with a little bit of felt, or scotch bright before inserting it into the housing. It does help out. Sorta like a glass pack muffler before the fiber glass blanket is worn out. Big difference! 😀

Its definitly nice having a CNC mill… Even though I didnt use ANY G-Code, the Steppers let me use the mill as if I had 3 axis power feed and the software gave me DRO.
Still needs cleaning up and the end painting, but that can wait till tomorrow.

Took your advice (plus it matched my previous spring/washer arrangement 🙂 )
I picked those sizes… because those are the size end mills I have and I didnt feel like making more passes than I need to.
I still need to do the other side, but I tried it out anyway. I have a blodnob valve that he graciously sent me – I haven’t shot my gun much since I installed the blodnob valve because I have been messing around with it too much so when fired I thought I’d set my gun too low, I removed the insert and BOOM… nope, its working fine. Even if removing the other side doesn’t help any – it doesn’t matter because its quiet enough for me now.
I find it’s best to very the sizes of all the chambers
