Sgt. Carlos Hathcock is said to have killed a enemy sniper, in Viet Nam, 😯 while the sniper was looking through his rifle scope. The bullet struck the sniper in the eye by traveling the length of the scope. I would never dispute this story but I was wondering if any of you have tried this shot? It would be interesting if someone has a supply of the scopes that come on less expensive airguns.

We had a version of that in my Blackpowder days.
An axehead welded to a frame and two clays were set to each side. We shot at that thing from 25 yards offhand. Some fellas could actually do it with great regularity. I never did but I could kick butt on the walkabout shoots 🙂

Sawtime did you and a friend fire at the same time? 😀 😀 😀 just kidding. Pretty cool I will have to try it. When I first got my gun I tried all different experiments. Conclusion the guns are scary accurate 8)

I think I will put an action figure behind the blade and try to split the pellet on either side of its head!

This story was fully tested on “Mythbusters” and proven to be untrue. Even a high powered FMJ round will not penetrate all the glass before rupturing the scope tube.
