FULL AUTO
i have been told by a liberal ( i know thats my first mistake) that the problem with gun shows is there is no control and the average citizen, without a permit, can walk in and buy a fully auto ak 47 or other such weapon. i was under the impression that you had to have special permits for full auto.
so here is the question: can you walk in to a gun show and purchase third party a fully automatic firearm?
my response to the liberal was that it must be semi-auto made to look like full auto, was i wrong?
disclaimer: this is just a question for the sake of argument! i am not for any reason trying to purchase a fully automatic rifle to declare war on all the neighborhood prairie dogs! 😀

i know i know stop arguing with idiots, but sometimes i just have to sound off. this guy is telling me that all those ar 15 rifles he sees at the gun shows are actually full auto m 16’s, and this is why we must close the so called gun-show loophole. the problem is that he would not know the difference between full or semi auto if jumped up and bit him in the ass

thanks for the info, however like i said in the beginning i am dealing with a liberal. he has no intention of trying to verify any info i provide him, he has seen the weapons that look just like the ones on tv, with his own eyes. therefor i am full of shit. i just don’t know how to convince him short of hand carrying him to a gun show and showing him the difference. i told him to call his local gun store, that they would confirm these facts, he refuses. i am at a loss? as far as he is concerned the facts are just lies put out be the evil republicans. how the hell do i argue with that?

Actually my current English class is killing me. He hates formal writing. He wants us to use lots of slang, profanity, and misspell words to reflect our dialect in the papers. 😕 😕 😕 He will count off if you use standard English in a paper. 😆

I saw a Blaser Tac2 in 338 lapua for sale on gunbroker a while back. It included 4 magazines and a silencer. If only I had the money for that gun. That would be wicked. If only…. 🙁
I’d have to ask him… I think it’s only one tax stamp since it was originally registered as multiple calibers and it is only one “device.” However, because it’s a multi-caliber registered sear that is common across a multitude of the common trigger groups used in various HK platforms means just that little tiny piece of steel is worth about $15-16K because of the versatility. Yeowza!

Even if I did live in a title-II allowing state at my current income I doubt I’d own any full auto stuff. Fun to play with now and again but mostly useless in my opinion and crazy expensive to feed. If I had piles o’money to throw around I’d have a few for sure… LOL
However if I could get them here in CA I would love to own one suppressor for each caliber of rifle I own– that I could justify the NFA tax stamps for.
When he got that sear, did he have to pay the 200 dollar tax for each gun he would use it for, or is it just the one fee for the sear itself?

The AR-180 is a blast. A friend in Nevada has one and it’s stupid fun– mostly because being .22lr it’s somewhat affordable to shoot full auto. He also has a multi-caliber HK sear that he switches between his MP5 and 91, and also has an AR, but they’re much more expensive to shoot full auto obviously. He’s trying to track down and buy an Lakdside belt-fed .22LR upper for his AR15 though– which should be a good time. 😀
Class 3 weapon is just another way to describe those that have to go through class 3 dealers. May not be “correct” but it works. 😉
