My problem with the bobcat is the stock. They need a light weight walnut option. The tacticals tend to be heavy. Not sure why Fred went dovetail. Seems a bit behind the times for a new gun. Does AOA do all the FX repairs? It doesn’t sound like they keep parts in stock.
Now that i have fired the .30 bc and then i sent it back … turn back time i would still buy one. minus the warped stock. AOA gave me great service emailed me a ups label on the spot. Its not there fault. they even offered to send it back as it was and i could still use it and i could put the new one on when it came in. but i just wanted to make sure that it was right and if something wasnt right then i wouldnt be happy and id have to send it back again so. if they dont get a stock they said that they would pull the stock off of a new one. (i like the way mine shot). id have no problem buying another and i would buy it from AOA.
Now what i would change on the BC.
i would like to see a piccatiny rail instead of dovetail.
that front lower weaver rail needs to be shaved off. let the customer put what they want on there.
The stock seems like it needs a ataching screw somewhere near the front. (with the bipod i would get flex) could of just been that stock??
Maybe come with 2 mags
The cricket- Would be 2nd on my list- seems like its a third party .30 cal though not sure how that works ??
The matador – Yeh i want one and it would be 1’st on my list — but lack of customer support in the us really killed it for me. When i emailed the rep and asked some ? ‘s i got like a generac reply seemed like a auto reply didnt even answer my ?’s Its just hard to justify spending 2k on a gun then have an issue and now you got a $2k paperweight cause you dont know how to fix it.
My brother and a few others are definitely with you. Herr Ville said he would banish my eye sight if I buy one. π― I put my name on the list for a Cricket 30 a while back but they are still doing some R&D with the barrels so it could be quite a while before the bugs are worked out on them and they may be a next years kind of purchase in reality unless thing speed up quite a bit. R&D can be really slow but they are hopefully doing some testing this week because the 30 bobcats and matadors are coming in numbers very soon and they will saturate the immediate market given the numbers being shipped. No doubt about it the Bobcats are ahead of the pack at this moment. They also may carry the day on best trigger, accuracy, ergonomics, smoothest action, etc. so they are still in the running for my $ as delays mount up. I hear there a few minor tweaks in the shipment with your stock fit being one of the complaints. One can only hope. Would you buy it again given a Matador and Cricket 30 readily available? β
So its a no brainer… bobcat .30 cal , did you put down the deposit?
Kip told me it should be about the end of this week on the shipments. AOA normally doesn’t fib as much as the others. He said there were plenty of extra 30s when I talked to him a little over a week ago. 6 on the list so far for the 30s and 15 coming of each caliber. Between Bobcats, Matadors, and Crickets there will be a relative flood of 30 cal bullpups in the next two months. I shoot 22 shorts occasionally in my backyard and hear guns shots In the area regularly so airguns are not much of an issue. I was shooting my 25 Condor without any shroud and it sounded like a 22 LR. No one ever complained.
Im still waiting to get it back.. they said there would be stocks in the next shipment should be within a cpl weeks. so i wait. but before i sent it off i put about 300 pellets through it..The gun puts my .25 royale to shame. I was shooting consistant 5 shot 68 yard one hollers well under 1/2″. I shoot from inside my 2 car garage with one door open and and shoot out the back door. It echoes from inside and if i shoot it outside it is not as loud. i have neighboors on all 4 sides of me. all 4 houses are within 200 ft. I live on a deadend street so we dont get a lot of traffic so its a pretty quiet area. The .30BC is louder than my royale 500. I had a Gamo bone collector .17 springer that i gave to my nephews it was louder than the bobcat. I have no issues shooting it in my yard. nieghbors dont say nothin. but then again i keep to my self and don’t talk to them. The gun is a solid shooter.
… and he means other issues besides the faulty stock and the fact itΒ΄s one of the ugliest guns ever made. π
dman1114 – would you say the FX Bobcat 30 is backyard friendly? I keep hearing the 22/25 Bobcats are very loud and need moderators. Any issues with your 30 cal Bobcat to date?
the farthest i shot it was that 68 yards i put up a vid of… I wasnt happy with the fit of the stock so i called AOA and they sent me a shipping label. They have the gun now and they are going to be replacing the stock. they said that the stock wasnt right. They wouldve sent it back so i could shoot but i want to make sure its right so when they get either another bobcat or stock ill get mine back.. so i been shooting my FX500 but its just not the same π π
dman1114 – have you had the opportunity to shoot some groups at longer ranges – like 100 yards or more?
If she had a hat on I couldn’t tell she was a brunette. π³
Lol.. you’re one funny guy. Emily is the brunette. I guess we know which hair color you prefer in the battle of the blonds and brunettes. Got that song in my head now “Hey hey hey”
Emily Ratajkowski holding a $2k pellet gun may be as good as it gets. π― When my wife saw her holding that calf she couldn’t believe it. π
I am in the same boat Brant, I haven’t see a music video in a long time but for some reason, voices told me to go youtube that song and I’ll be d@mn, I am glad I did. If you never heard of Emily Ratajkowski, you will now. For your info these are the same voices that told me its ok to buy a $2k pellet gun π

Does all this mean you wonΒ΄t be casting any 20gr. special pellets then ??? π

It’s an ugly gun!
That off my chest it shoots well and it’s of a good recent FX quality. All FX’s have the dovetail and since the B-cat is build around the Royal block it shares that dovetail with all of them. Not very Bullpup-esque solution though. I’m with D-man with all his points about those other BP’s on his list. The guy is wise but his taste is questionable since he didn’t mention the fact the B-cat is FUGLY!!
If Mr. Axelsson could just redesign the stock and fix the aforementioned issues i’d buy one.
Have i mentioned the ugliness of that gun ??
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2. This POS iPhone sucks though …
