Q:

FX Impact vs Wicked Air WARP

I have saved enough to purchase an Impact but i was referred to check out Wicked Airgun’s WARP which looks very similar to the Impact but about $200 less and a one month wait rather than 3-4 month wait for the Impact.

Albeit the Impact may have extra tunability features, the WARP looks very attractive. Anyone biy a WARP yet and what are opinions?

I always heard the FX smooth twist was the creme de la creme of accuracy. I did a few rudimentary google checks and saw varying opinions on the accuracy of the LW barrel vs the FX smooth twist. Looks like maybe the LW barrel might have an edge at 100 yards +?

What caliber are you planing to buy? Most ST and LW barrels are accurate. ST barrels have won the majority of the EBR 75 and 100 yard competitions. Google AoA EBR results. I think the only year a ST didn’t win a gun with TJ barrel did.

The two ST barrels I have had were very accurate. A CZ barrel in my humble opinion is the creme de la creme.

I am planning on buying the .30 caliber. I will google AoA EBR and check it out. Most of my shots will be within 50 yards for harvesting javelina sized critters. I have enough to buy the FX Impact with one extra mag. I’d like the barrel but an extra FX barrel is the cost of buying a Condor SS; otherwise I would order an extra .25 cal barrel.

I haven’t ruled out WARP pistol yet, but like the other members indicated, their website needs to lay down some basic stats on the gun such as a 10 shot bench result, specs on pellets/FPE, etc.

With all of the FX smooth twist barrel accuracy issues I have seen people post about lately, I would definitely go with one of the Wicked Air rifles with a regulator over an Impact.

My piggy bank fits this. 6lbs 4oz scoped.

The more I read on the War guns the more I like them, Its the guys that got the guns that I am listening to.
I need a bigger piggy bank,
I really need to call Travis and just pick his brains , But the strain on the Visa may be to much,
What the hell its only money, Right Travis?

Yes they only use TJ barrels. Then WAR puts a choke on them.

When I talked to Travis he told me they were TJ barrels

What barrel do these WAR bullpups come with? Do they specify somewhere on their site?

I was wondering that too. Can’t find it on the website

Ok guys are complaining about the brass piece that’s on the end, of the barrel of the Impact.

Why can’t a guy, just get a new barrel, have the end milled, as a exact copy.
Just like the brass part, but in steel all one piece on the barrel it self?? 🙄
I bet it would still be cheaper as well.

Then you could, use the gun, as a break down gun.

I would like to see a side by side compression of these two guns,
The works,
cost
shot count
ease of working on,
Mike

I had a deposit down for a Impact. After waiting for too long I got a Flex. I am very happy I did. I had a close friend get a Impact. If I was going to do it again I would get the Flex. The Impact might weigh a little less but not to make a big difference. My Flex is super accurate. I was able to shoot a 5 shot group at 200 yards that I could cover with my palm. You can’t do that with a smooth twist barrel. I have a Bobcat in 30 cal. It will hang with the Flex to about 75 yards. Then the Flex outshoots it with ease. Also I put on a folding stock on my Flex, adds a little weight but I don’t mind. The mags with the Flex work great. No problems with them at all. At least you can get them. I was very put off with FX and how they handled everything with the Impact. Too bad really because it could be great.

Thanks Mr Fox. I didn’t realize that. Now I can get an aftermarket stock with cheek piece.

A $1,650 airgun without a regulator as a standard equipment? F-that! Manufactured in batches a reg cost what, $50 to make? That’s stupid to market it as a high powered premium priced gun yet nickle and dime you for a reg option. Just make it an even $1,800 and include a reg.

I found out that a regulator is optional for an addition $150

Extra barrels are $225

The tank is 13ci. I think the gun would look good with a cf tank
