Q:

FX Rifles

Does anyone here own a FX Monsoon? I saw one come up on yellow and looked it up. Wow it really appeals to me. I love the synthetic stock and the 12 round blow back looks really cool too. Anyone have info on the reliability of their rifles?

I just looked on the Straight Shooters site and they say they handle FX. Their rifles seem nice, I am surprised there are not more dealers! I have to admit that makes me nervous. I am looking for a rifle that is really accurate to 50 yards to punch paper, I would also like to be able to take care of the occasional raccoon and nutria if I need to. Unfortunately I am not in a position to have a lot of expensive rifles. I have an old Sheridan Silver Streak, a Crosman Quest 1000, ( which I have yet to develop the springer skills to be able to shoot consistently) and I now have a Discovery that is pretty accurate most of the time just not that powerful. If you could only have one rifle for the uses I need what would you get?

ZH,

I wonder why Straight Shooters does not carry them anymore?

I know Steve at PAG had some FX that took months to get parts for because the distributor would not sell them to him.

One guy on the YF finally told the owner of FX how much problem people are having here getting parts and repairs from the distributor. So the owner now has a guy in Sweden that will sell parts to people here that need them.

Poor Cygnus was almost on a murder spree dealing with the dist here in the USA. Im sure he can retell his story….lol

Mike,

I own an FX Typhoon which was purchased through Straight Shooters, the rifle is rock solid with zero problems in the last couple of years. I’ll also volunteer that I purchased a BSA Scorpion T-10 Tactical through AOA and was very satisfied with my dealings with them.

After the sale, I was able to correspond with Robert at AOA via email, and have always received speedy, curteous service. I have had nothing go wrong with the BSA yet, so I can’t comment from experience with their repair policies.

I’ve said this before, I could care less about AOA being the only source in North America for these guns. They have what I want so I buy through them, so what? I also really like their website and how often they keep it updated.

I’ve got a deposit down already for the FX Microburst wehen it gets here, which is sort of a cross between the Verminator and the Monsoon.

Seems kind of strange that the huge USA has only one FX retailer, when countries like Finland and New Zealand have more.

At least we have as many distributors as UZBEKISTAN for FX guns

THANK GOODNESS FOR THAT 🙄

Whatever happens with your FX, the AoA will blame YOU for it.
I don’t appreciate monopolies on airgun products, especially of a high cash value.

Ive dealt with them and havent had any troubles. There are several guys here who have had nothing but problems with them. I think the biggest problem is that once they have your cash they arent willing to admit to anything that might cost them something. That they arent as easy going as most small places like this that we are used to. I dont think they adhere to the “the customer is always right” theory either ).

Again, give it a bit and Im sure you will get more feedback from folks.

hmmm that does not sound too good. I thought AoA was a pretty reputable place, or is it the factory that’s the problem?

There have been a few guys here who have had them or shot them. The impression I got from them is that they are pretty sweet but service through AoA sucks ass and a rifle like that is gonna need some service.

Maybe they will chime in.
