FYI JSB comparison of 14.3gr, 15.9gr, and 18.1gr
I tested some JSB’s today.
Same gun, same POA, 10 shots each group, 65yds with BSA Super
Ten bull barrel.
Top row from left to right was
15.9gr — 14.3gr — 18.1gr — 15.9gr

15.9gr — 18.1gr
14.3gr @ 875FPS
15.9gr @ 850FPS
18.1gr @ 815FPS
In my opinion, you can’t go wrong with any of them…The only obvious
difference is price and availability IMO….14.3gr is $20.00 per 500, 15.9’s
are $15.00 per 500 and the 18.1’s are $17.00 per 500. The 18.1gr
seems to be the hardest to get but I would advise that you place orders
a month before you are going to run out no matter which you use….
The more tins you order the cheaper they are…I think I ordered 16
tins of 15.9gr From Pyramydair and got them for about $12.00 per
tin shipped….

I noticed the s410 is one of the guns you’re thinking of. I can tell you that my s410 erb Xtra doesn’t care for the 16gr JSB’s to much, but loves the taste of the 18gr heavies. Great pellets. Here’s some one holers I did. The groups 1-4 at the top in red #’s were a 20 yrds, and the 4 groups below (5-eight) were done at 30 yrds. There is virtually no difference in group size. All groups were less than a 1/4″ CTC. 5 shots each hole. s410 + JSB 18gr = 😛 Loves Kodiaks to. Can’t wait to try 40/50 yrds.
Those 18’s are looking better and better! 😀

You’re exactly right eddie…If I rest the gun in that Y on the gun rest,
I have shots scattering everywhere….If I rest the rifle right over the
top of the part that threads into the table and lean my body against
the table top, it sures up everything and the groups tighten back up…
..
I like it Jeff I have one I made I to would like it a little more stable but when you get portable most all that I have seen you suffer a little on that but you know you kind of learn what you can and can’t do on them and we are always the one using it so we learn what to do sounds good don’t it have a good one!

I pm’d you earlier today thanks for that info I shot tonight, dam it got dark and I still had pellets! I had some JSB 18.1 gr and really haven’t shot them so I did tonight did really well at 50yds I had a couple groups at .375 even the fifth shot to boot! to do this I turned my pw to bottom out then moved it about 5 numbers to bring it to 1 on the wheel just above 0 not the allen head boltbut the number 1 on the wheel, my average was a bit high I thought 1044 but it did like them at that speed so not sure I usually don’t shoot that well by not having things right! When I bought my Condor had it for about 3 weeks now the guy I bought it from had some pellets he sent with the deal those JSB are some I bought but he sent me some Wolverine has a BSA emblem on it they are domed and 16gr I have been told they are JSB’s they look the same but don’t really know that for sure. I need to shoot them also and would like to order some of the lighter ones like 15.9 in JSB. Beeman has been shooting good for me 21gr and I have had the same group a couple times with those also but my usual group is pretty consistent at .500 at 50 yds and not complaining here, like you told me a sparrows head is my target with .500 groups LOL! Well if I get a chance I told you I would post some of these just need to take the time out to do it thanks agian Jeff! Eddie.
Not even the slightest breeze maw….The fog had just lifted….15.9’s
and 18’s seem to load the same…I can’t feel any difference when I
load them…
Are you sure there wasn’t a wind, maybe the 15.9’s fit alittle looser.
I decided to sight in my BSA Sportsman HV this morning while the
wind was nil…So I figured I may as well try 15.9gr and 18.1gr…Man
am I glad I did..I again used the same POA on everything @ 65yds..The
difference between the 2 pellets is unmistakable
in this gun…I shot target #5 and #6 with 15.9gr….then #7 &
#8 with 18.1gr..(#8 has 20 rounds and the 5 flyers were the last of the
20 rounds) Makes me believe that even when the gun likes the pellet,
it has to have the right velocity or the accuracy suffers….The 15.9gr
may be going too fast or too slow…Not sure which…
Thought maybe I was just flinching for some reason when I was
shooting the 15.9gr so, I shot #9 with 15.9gr and the sighting bull
target with 18.1gr. It wasn’t flinching….There are no less than 10 shots
in each group. A crow made the mistake of landing in a tree @ 75yds.
I put him to sleep with the BSA Super Ten and JSB 15.9gr so don’t
assume that the 18.1gr is the best for every gun..Or that the 15.9gr
isn’t good enough for hunting…
It is definately true that different guns like different pellets….
M/C, looks like the 18’s are really stacking them in there! Other that what looks like the two flier’s, a really good group! ( I hate flier’s!)..
I am hearing rumors of a new .25 from JSB. Keepingmy fingers crossed! 😀

Mam seems to like those 18.1 grainers but all shot well but then I have seen your targets you do your part very well also I wish I had some money to burn these air guns are sure fun to play with but my buisness is slow I re-face kitchen cabinets and do all kinds of wood working people are just not spending right now, it has worked out ok I guess other than not much money coming in I have a house we bought cheap so I have been doing one of these DIY projects replacing windows and after doing 10 out of the 26 windows yea I said 26 total old house beautiful wood work in it we have it all about stripped, well my wife did that it was her project but now with the new windows going in they were really bad I replaced the window sills in most of them quite a job but hey I know how now!!! still have some drywall and wiring left to do and furnace repair I hope won’t set us back to bad trying to do all I can do only way you can make out with an old house like that well sorry I went off on a different subject keep those targets coming and info I love it all thanks Eddie

Looks like you got yourself a winner there Saugus18. Between the
gun and the pellets you have a combination that’s a keeper.
Very consistant and not one flyer…..That says a lot about the gun
and the shooter… Now stretch that thing out and bring us back some more targets…..Great post….
