as you are able to get it into the 900, im not gonna blame barrel
it hits 900 when your below 2500 psi right ?
seems to me that you cant knock the valve open when there alot of pressure in the bottle…sort of like the old condor valve
2 things control that….valveseat diameter, and returnspring force
beauty is that you can replace return spring…go find a lighter one..
these valves will naturally try to close the selves unless pushed to deep…then you get a dump, so set the tophat as low as possible….my own valves do go beyond .130″ thats not that much more than AF uses
valveseat….i dont know what blodnop used or how he designed it….so i need to see actual picture to help you there…and thats a much more high tech place to be fiddling….unless you got lathe and shit
also with the adjustable tophat….remember to use the locking tube in the valve…that little brass tube thing that screws in from the top….any slack in the threads will soak up power….and theres bound to be some…as the return spring is pushing one way and the hammer the other
is any air escaping around the breech…hold hand around the area and fire with pellet in there…any leaks=loss of power…..
what weight hammer are you using?

Then a bunch of shots in the 900s
What is going on?? No matter where I set my tophat, until the pressure drops below ~2100/2200 psi, it shoots under 800. Then there are just a couple of shots in the 800s, then it jumps to the 900s and holds steady between 900 and 950. I assume that it stays like that until the valve dumps all of the air in the tank? Cygnus. Any ideas? Do I need more preload/ heavier spring?
Alright. I’ll try to make a cool video this weekend. I played with it, and managed to get 10+ shots over 880fps with the 68 grain roundball. Goes from around 2200psi to 1800 psi. Most of the shots are around 120fpe. It blows straight through 2x4s, small trees etc. I can’t wait to take it hunting again. I am also seriously considering trying to shoot a shotgun load out of it. Like 7 or so #4 buck, between wadding or something. If it held a tight pattern out to 20 yards, it would be fun to squirrel hunt with.
I really haven’t even gotten the thing sighted in with yet. All my time is devoted to sleep and getting micro$oft to replace my zune. 😥
I like the garbage can idea, should look perrdy dam cool, but a chunk of wood can show me allot more.

With this 000 buckshot shooting as well as it is (10+ shots at 850+ fps). I may make this my main caliber.
i have been testing in my garage with the light coming in from a skylight,i have got one spring which makes it so hard to cock,but would be possible with the cygs butterfly winged breach mod so i will try that mod sometime soon,hey dnc do you think you will use it as your main caliber now and get rid of the 1/4″?i think that it will be a good coyote killer,but then so is the .25 out to 50yds ish,
You need a gun like my 300. If you can’t kill it with the 9mm, evaporate it. 😈

As far as the hammer and spring.. 😮 Well, I’m using something like a 120 grain hammer with a spring that I can barely compress sometimes. Its about as stiff as they come.
Although this problem is annoying. Its not really the end of the world. I still get 10+ shots at 880+ below around psi. Blodnob did good work.
