Got my Multi-Shot Kit
What up guys! I got my multi-shot kit in the mail the other day. From notification to delivery was probably about a week (counting weekend) and I live in Hawaii. Pretty dang good there Tony! As always Ed’s workmanship is impeccable. I love that the guy touches by hand the pieces when building these guns and multi-shot kits. Quality control. OK enough of that stuff.
Well I got the kit installed and it does as expected, looks pretty good as well. That said you pretty much gotta take apart the gun to remove the stock breech and install the multi-shot kit. I went with a full removal of the air tube, trigger group and then the stock breech. There is a breech block that the barrel screws into also that needs to be removed and replaced with one that comes with the kit. If you guys want pictures or a video of how or just to see it I can get around to it if there are requests. Just give me sometime.
Still gotta put some on paper to see if accuracy changes or anything (not expecting any problems). I am just a simple plinker and pest controller so I really don’t do all that shot string stuff with a chrono sorry.

O.k., just got my multishot kit. Replacement of the breach/bolt looks very simple, just take one off and replace with the other. I’m not sure about the barrel block; do you have to disassemble everything up front and take the barrel off to screw it into the barrel block, or is there a simpler way?
sorry ed i might have not been clear when i wrote my problem….i didnt remove the rear cap…the screw that stripped on my gun is 1 of the 2 allen screws that hold the breech on the gun. the head of the screw rounded out so it was pure luck that i was able to remove it from my matador…..i was going to clean my bore out and i realized the allen key kept rotating and the screw was stuck…but like i said i was able to remove it but theres no way in hell im putting that messed up screw back in when i get my new multishot breech
Why? If you don’t need to replace 0-ring inside the reservoir you don’t need to take off that plug from the back side of the reservoir.
So Ed, to remove the breech there is no need to remove the end cap? When I tried to get my breech out without the cap and it hung up on the end cap making difficult to slide off the track it sits in. this is why I ended up taking the end cap off. Just trying to make things easier for those that will be getting their kits from you and Tony soon. I am certainly no air gun technician. 😕
Would this suffice:
1. Remove four screws of the breech
2. Slide breech and bolt out
3. Remove breech/barrel block (where the barrel screws in for stability)
4. Install Multi-Shot Kit
Why? If you don’t need to replace 0-ring inside the reservoir you don’t need to take off that plug from the back side of the reservoir.
dammit i need a new rear screw than….i stripped the head of the screw trying to get it out…..these damn screws are soo soft its ridiculous
no you use the same screws.
Does the new kit come with new rear mounting screws or do i still need to use the stock breech screws?
Kekoa, I went to the hardware store today and I found out that the 2 side countersunk screws that secure the breech end cap onto the rear end of the air tube housing are 3 mm X .50 pitch X 4 mm long.
If you have stripped one of the screws out; I bought the proper sized screws in 5 mm, 8 mm and 10 mm lengths. The 3mm X .50 pitch X 10 mm length screw would easily screw into my good breech end air tube cap without bottoming out in the threads. It would tighten down fully onto the air tube housing.
As for you guys that have stripped one of the 2 screws that secure the rear Matador breech block; you can buy longer screws and use them. Ed threads the breech end cap farther than he needs to and a longer screw will engage the good threads and work just fine.
DON’T ASK ME HOW I KNOW THIS! 😳

Ed – for the non-mechanically inclined, an installation video would be of great help. Tony gave me a brief set of instructions in an e-mail that I’d probably be able to follow if I already knew my way around the Edgun internals, but to this newb, I need all the visual help I can get!

I have all original screws in stock in case someone wants to stay 100% OEM 🙂
Try to take the M3 tap, and carefully remake the thread, then take a new screw and put it on the place. In fact one doesn’t need to take off this plug while installing the KIT. If you are fail, take drill of 3.2 mm, make the new whole, take the M4 tap and make a new thread in the plug. Then take a drill 7.5 mm in diameter and make a new cone on the wall of the reservoir for a new M4 screw, make it a little deeper as the curve of the reservoir will not allow you to push the screw head down enough, it should protrude above the reservoir.

If so the little side one is a 3mm thread x 4mm length and the rear action screw is a 3mmx 16mm. Try and replace them with 12.9 grade screws put a small amount of anti seize compound under the heads before re-tightening them and they should last forever..

i spoiled two screws last time when i re-set the regulator,,, because they were quite tight and lock,,,
1st one was the one that hold the brass ring behind the barrel o-ring ,,,, it is very small ,,, and i tried to opened up and spoiled ,, now i cannot open it forever,, 😯 😯 but the good news is i already ordered a SS breech for my gun,,, :biggrinn: but still need to solve this problem ,,,
2nd one was one of those two screws that holds the trigger guard and air tube ,,, see below ,,, good Ed has designed and put 2 screws there ,,, now i don’t know what to do?????????? 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁

What I did was remove the baffle shroud, use a 19mm open end box wrench to loosen the barrel from the barrel block. After removing the breech loosen the barrel by turning counter clockwise to loosen it from the block. You may need to grip the barrel block with something (vise grip, vise), use a towel or rag to protect the block. Go easy on the baffle nut, I am pretty sure its aluminum and you do not want to damage that.
