Got my new Vulcan .25
Wow I thought these new ones don’t ping that loud. It’s the loudest ping I have heard from any airgun I have ever shoot, This is got to be fixed. I guess I will be looking into it or returning it.
I don’t think there is any kind of depinger installed… Just can’t be to ping as loud as it does.
I shot it three times not sure if I like it at all. My Cricket .25 was way quieter than this thing.
What gives???

Is the ping really caused by a pressure wave inside the tube? Maybe alot of it is resonance from the hammer strike. Has anyone tried using any sound deadening on the exterior of the air tube? Maybe I’ll try a temporary application of Dynamat if I have any left over from my car audio days.
Otherwise it is just subjective, additionally nobody can compare .
Great gun , so much interest in mods.
I remember my early PC years. I got my fun using it , games etc. Others got their kicks upping all the systems, speeds, bios and everything else. Each to their own.
Boys toys, you cannot beat them.
Safe shooting
Merry Xmas to all
No I did not and you are correct it’s all subjective but hey it was cheap to do and causes no harm. I know people have been putting depingers in airguns a long time and like I said I have them installed in all my guns so why leave out the Vulcan it needs some love too… LOL
Wife and I had a great time shooting this morning. We shoot the Mrod, Vulcan and the Cricket. She was having to much fun shooting at the zombie target telling me after ech shot I just got his nuts… now his eyeball… Poor Zombie.

I had a dream that I had a .25 it may be coming true…..
Zonk you should have listened and got the 25. There is not one good reason to own 2 bullpups of the same caliber. You would shoot the 25 for your bigger pests. It grows on you and sooner than later your blasting sparrows with it.

Never did I think I’d dump $2000+ in a airgun, boy was I wrong. Now I have two and thinking on another one.
Out of curiousity did you take a noise reading before and after!

Wow that’s awesome….
It does seem to help quite a bit. Just shot the Vulcan in the back yard and it seems to be a little quieter. I’m taking the wife up to our property later today to do some more shooting. We own 21 acres just about 10 miles north of us I use to shoot and hunt on. What’s really kool is that it boarders a 14,000 acre hunting club.
That locks the two spirals together and keeps them from unwinding.
it was just a warning if people try to copy, it is important. I am not criticizing.
does it help?
Ok here are some pics. Just put this brush in it and I will post results later after I go shoot it some more. Followed the directions from the video.
Got the brush at my local owned Halls hardware store for $1 each. I bought two just to have an extra. Cut the handle and then with some needle nose pliers put a little hook in it. These brushes are well coated so when I cut it it did not fall apart at all. Very well made for a buck. 😛
Here are the pics.. Enjoy

You would be right about the unraveling …… if one merely cut the twisted wire, but in the video he also puts an 90+ degree bend to create a hook.

Americans!
has anyone tried a stronger hammer spring (fatter wire) but less compressed?
with the brush thing, if you cut the spiral it will open up.
You didn’t waste any time getting inside 😎
FYI a while bach the Czech’s got exposed to Kentucky BLUE GRASS Music, imported a few banjos’, and now can’t live without at least a weekly visit to the pub to hear their own rendition of Blie Grass TWANGing Music. Now it comes full circle and we are importing some of our TWANG back to the U.S.
You might be able to cure a ping but you’ll never completely get rid of our beloved TWANG.
LOL Love it. You all crack me up. Don’t get me wrong I really like the vulcan and yes needs to be broke in but that will never get rid of the fast release of air “TWANG” sound. All airguns have it. I guess I am just spoiled with my Cricket. 22 it’s dead quiet.. and so is the rest of my fleet, But they all have been tuned and depinged and have added custom air strippers on them from NC.
Where are the guys getting there custom air strippers / shroud for there Vulcans. I have seen some on here. They look pretty sweet. One thing is that it would be hard to add length to this Vulcan because it so short, but I thought that with the cricket but I would never put the original shroud on it again after the noise reduction.
Thanks for the report re the rolled up tube.
I have a baby bottle brush here awaiting your report.
BTW, you really need to install a rubber grommet or as I have done, a punched out foam ear plug to damp the twang of the hammer spring.
On the Vulcan, that noise is quite loud and can obscure other sounds. The factory currently places a tube over the spring to damp that noise.
That is what is probably what they refer to as the “factory installed de-pinger” even though that goes against normal PCP terminology.

I actually put something on my 25 cricket when I still had it but couldn’t tell if it made a difference. Maybe on Vulcan it might
