Q:

Got the 25 Cricket today

Thanks RatRacer for emptying my savings ,
Thanks Earnest for doing a super job on a fine 25 the that RatRacer sold me…
But installing the UTG 3x9x32 bugbuster is an injustice to the gun, I got it sighted in but need taller mounts(ordered)
If you guys think a 22 Cricket makes the same noise as a 25 Cricket hitting a sparrow need your hearing aids checked…
More latter the wife walked in

Everything land wise is closed down here in West Texas, To much oil field,
No one wants you on the land due to lots of oil field theft,
Just some of the drilling bits are worth one million dollars, Crazy..

Mike, that’s not wasting time, that’s just good living!! I wish I didn’t have to drive 1500 miles to shoot P-dogs every year. :4:

Back in my school days I would ride my dual sport bike in the middle of no where in 105 degrees temps (west Texas) and set up my blanket under a small mesquite (shade) bush , Pull out a book a gallon of ice tea and my 22 ruger single action six pistol .
read nap and take out a LOT of prairie dogs , Waste a whole after noon reading drinking ice tea and shooting prairie dogs,,,
If I could do that again I could do some major damage to the dogs with my Cricket,,,
The good times.
Mike

Oh Coda why did you have to mention prairie dog shooting! Damn now my finger really itches……………….. :4: :4: :4: been doing that for 46 years.

My wife shops for eight hours and comes home happy and refreshed. 😕 At least i think she is shopping. 😆

My wife is into matching dollar per dollar and that really hurts. :3:

Same here Coda. Holly shit can that woman spend!

My R3 30 cal Standard is set at 875 fps and 75 fpe. This is a gut rather than a feather explosion. 😯 I have photos of whats left of sparrows stuck to clear plastic feeders. :4: Think prairie dog shooting. :confusedn:

SECoda,
Now that is an over kill, Some people think my 25 is an over kill, Talk about a feather explosion , I learned to hit them right in front of there chest, Also makes a loud pop…
30 cal wow, What kind of FPS is the pellet traveling? Can you get 30 cal hollow points???
I am not really really getting to test out my Cricket 25 un till I get a lot better scope on it, I am just happy to be popping sparrows at 38 yards,,,
With my new LCD (shroud ) that dropped the noise level of the 25 a lot, I will be able to break it in a little bit…
Mike

The 30 cal explodes them. You need a stick to clean the feeder. 😯

SEcoda,, Ouch, That got to hurt,
Awny, People did eat sparrows back in the depression, But like I say after the 25 hits them not much left,
I got a big German Sheppard that kills cats,,,

Oh please no Zonk.
I have to give my sparrows a proper grave site. I wait until I have 50 or 60 then I have to dig a hole about three feet deep with the post hole diggers (dogs dig them up if I do not go deep)
Its not like I just throw them in the trash, Tried that once and the stink just about killed me, Trash truck only runs on Mondays (sometimes)
It went from 100 to 105 degrees everyday to 75 degrees and rain this past week, Yep, One week of rain in the desert, Crazy weather…
Oh yea I got one of those 1.99 on sale 4 foot pick up sticks from fright Harbor, Worth there weight in gold picking up sparrows,
I actually got about five of them…
Mike

Sparrows are tasty if you are welling to put the effort. Used to eat them when I was a kid and loved it.
I take my suggestion back as in your case they are ground meet after being hit by the 25 caliber.
Better choice: Get a cat!

Sad news the wife seen the 22 and the 25 and I got the What another gun, So I told the truth I got it on Ebay for 150 dollars and the Marauder is going up for sale…
I just have to take it apart and take pictures,
That may not be the whole truth ,
Time will tell,
I am not lying, Just a few fibs,
Mike

You did well. A man got to do what a man got to do, to survive!
I just tell mine that I still have less guns than she has shoes. That works. Sometimes.

Mike, I’ll send you a box of sparrows that I shot with my .22 so you can reshoot them.
