Q:

Gun rotation & rambling on.

Just got back from a little mini vacation in New Mexico, Did not take any PCP guns,
35 days ago I shot the 22 cricket for seven days, then the 25 cricket for seven days , then the 22 shorty mutant for seven days , and then the 25 veteran shorty for seven days , when I got back I Pulled the 22 cricket out still sitting on 200 bar like I left it , So smooth I did not no if I was loading pellets,
Two mags and lots of pecans and aspirin’s exploded at 38 and 48 yards, Man I like that gun.
Oh yea almost for got the unlucky four sparrows ,

Nice WingMan,
Interesting …. Cricket plenum/reg kits ……….. hum.
My Cricket 22 std came set to :biggrinn: 125 bar but my Compact 177 came set to 😳 140 bar.
Changed out both HS with a shorter lighter stainless steal one off of Amazon.

My One Handed Cricket mag loading.
While removing and installing a mag point the gun upwards at 45 degree, this hold the cocking lever open for yah.

To unloading a mag.
Place your right hand over the receiver and with your ring finger lift and push the mag lever back and hold.
With your thumb push the mag through from left out through the right side of the receiver.
Use your trigger finger and middle finger to grab hold and pull the mag out.

To loading a mag.
Hold and push lightly on the mag with your right thumb on the left side of the mag opening and your trigger finger ready on the right side to catch the mag before it slips right through.
With your right hand over the receiver and with your ring finger lift and push the mag loading lever back.
The mag will slip right in, release the lever and move the mag around a bit if needed to find center.
Advance it by one click for good measure.

Is sounds complicated, but with some practice in no time you’ll be able to reload in the dark just like I do.
Try it and practice the process with an empty mag.

~ GKU , p.s. where is Sir Ville ?

I believe it was Sirville that shared that mod with us… It was the first mod I did to my Cricket when I first got it.. hate the whole cocking/mag index system on the cricket but hate it a little less with this mod.. dont do what this pommy geiser did with his dremel, that is rough as shit.. take a very small round file to it and go slow as it is very thin and soft alloy.

The cricket runs “stressed out” from factory as the air plenum is far too small for that power level, the reg needs 140 to 155 bar to get 900 fps with 18gr in .22cal and 25.4gr in .25cal.. this kills efficiency/shot count and is the cause of that ear ringing ping.
If you have the .22 get a .25cal hammer spring for it off ebay as it doesnt have to work so hard.. I also made a custom longer plenum for mine and fitted a Huma reg to it which means I can get the 900fps easy with 115 to 120bar.. its now super quiet and get a much better shot count. Theres also much less stress on all internals.

If there’s enough interest with cricket owners here Ill send Huma some drawings for the plenum/reg kit and he can make a batch for us.

I’m not smart then u Mike …………. but this guy copied Zonks mod.
Don’t fire/dry fire the Cricket with its cocking lever open like that, you risk the chances of breaking the cocking plate !

Papa
There is a site some where on here that tells you how to cut out the side vents on the cricket probe that makes loading the cricket a one handed job, It locks the Cricket probe down while you load the magazine.
Someone on here smarter than me is going to have to find it, I looked every where.
I did it to my 22 and 25 cricket,
Mike

 :8: Breaking Bad 😛

Got a Cricket .22 as well, needless to say that it’s a great gun. Only downside for me is magazine loading, side lever far back and the ping in the ear every time the hammer hits. But hey, that’s nothing for a gun this accurate. Had a reg sealing issue in the beginning, sent it back for warranty repair, sorted.
Need to sort out some mechanism to keep the side lever and probe back while loading the mag. Very often the probe slides fwd ever so slightly blocking the mag sliding in and requiring me to hold the lever and the loading button at the same time with one hand. Alternatively have some mechanism holding the loading button in the open position. That’s the only thing I’d really like being sorted.

New Mexico? Breaking Bad? 😛

I got to say Mike, my .22 Cricket is super accurate at 50 yards.
