Q:

Happy birthday Knifemaker

Finally finished Mike’s .257 setup just in time for his birthday.

Oldgoat(Ted) donated a .257 barrel. I cut it down to 21″ and machined it probably a month ago. Yesterday I made the over sized bushing. Today I finished them and made a 105 gr hammer.

I also turned one of my .25 valves into a spin-loc valve and I have a first gen spin-loc collar so he can fill and have a gauge with the maddog stock.

This will be a .257 running off a ported out .25 valve. Hoping it will shoot 900 fps with 74 gr.

please do not accuse me of being any sort of “BOT.”

And the older I get, the stinker my Farts get!

Hey Adam! I was kinda thinking the same thing. Just make e’m my self> LOL

Ted, I’ll only be 59, so take that, you old fuck! 😈

Doug wanted to ship it with the .257 valve, but he had to make the breach smaller than normal. Thay may be the reason why the .25 cal valve. Don’t know. I’ll ask. Should smack things just fine, and maybe be a little better on air with my stock bottle. 😯

I need to start looking for a spare frame. It would be kinda nice to have the .257 set-up in a dedicated frame, for grab and shoot. And the .25 is just too darned accurate to just ignore. πŸ˜†

I am hopeing the 21″ Bbl. can get 900 fps. That would be just fine. Just gotta figure out how to quiet it down just a tad. :3:

Happy B Day Mike!

And BTW…. Just make the handles you old fart

Mike: Happy birthday, you old fucker: unless it is only your 60th BD. If so, I have almost a year on you. If you are going to celibate a birthday 60 years or under, happy birthday you young pup!

PLEASE tell Manuela that I said HELLO!

She is such a SWEETHART to talk to!!

PS: thanks for the kind words guys; I think that this isn’t just an internet forum: this place is more like a group of buddies that just haven’t met in person: yet!

HAPPY BELATED BDAY MIKE.

Those parts look DAMNED good. That’s some good work DOUG! WOW!

Can’t wait to hear what you think. Polish that bore and shoot it often. SHE LIKES IT…lol!

Joe, YES, 900 is PLENTY fast enough. A 75 gr FP bullet at 900 fps and a BC is about .129 or so should knock the snot outta any critter mike has crawlin around his place.

Hell, if a 25 gr JSB king at 880 can do it to a YOTE then a 900 fps fp at 75 gr will KIIIIIIILLLLLL!

Thanks Guy’s! It will be a B’day to remember! πŸ˜€

Only fly in the ointment, is I ordered a melting pot and lee handles for the mold last month, and everything came in except the handles for the mold. I rec’d an e-mail from the shipper-Optics planet saying that the manufacturer is out of stock, and will not ship until the 22nd at the earliest. πŸ‘Ώ Kinda sucks, as I was chomping at the bit to get started in learning how to cast. Bummer, but it will get here eventually.

In the meantime, RC sent some bullets to try out.

Once again, Thanks everybody!

And you know there are gonna be pic’s! πŸ˜‰

Good looking and powerful. Strong spring, nice heavy hammer, effective LDC and powerful Valve make the 257 so attractive.

That’s what Cedric started at before I made him a valve.

Will 900 fps be fast enough?

Congrats, and Happy Birthday Mike, may you have many more to come, enjoy!!

and many more HAPPY BIRTHDAYS to Mike and the great bunch of guys that pulled together to make this something really speciall ❗

Perfect timing, thanks for doing that.

Oldgoat, Doug, Tofazfou and the rest of you for my good friend Mike.

Happy Birthday Mike.

Awesome news! Can’t wait to here about Mike’s excitement when it arrives πŸ˜€

Holy Crap Doug! 😯 She’s BEAUTIFUL!!! I have a feeling this is going to open up a whole new World of AirGunning for me. Who would have ever thought. Casting Bullets and shooting them in a kick ass set up like this!

This Ain’t your Granddaddy’s BB Gun Boys! πŸ˜‰ Even as a kid I never wanted a .177. Too damned puny for this Texas Type. LOL! But .257? Just your everyday Air Cannon! Never know when you need to knock the stuff’ns out of anything from an Asian Dove to a Bob Cat around here. πŸ˜€

This has been a combined effort from some of the Finest we have here at the Tag.

They are in no order whatsoever, Dyotat, (Doug), the AG Master Machinist who put it all together. Kinda the resident Mad Scientist around here. (At great effort I might add), OldGoat, the consummate tinkerer, Who supplied the Barrel , .25 bullets to whet the appetite in my .25 L/W Barrel, ( And Air Supply, in the form or Shoe Box I might add), and the kick-start to really get me interested . RoachCreek, sorta the Daddy of the Idea for me at least, and very helpful with info and guidance in bullet selection, Bullets to try and casting. And Tof. (Cedric), with constant encouragement, testing, and very captivating Videos.

Now if the USPS Will Just treat her Kindly, We’ll Get her fitted and putting lead down range!

Thank You Guy’s. You’re the best! And I mean that.

Doug, Un-real work My Friend. Unreal!

( Manuela says thanks for saving my sanity. She is very Grateful.)

Just a super woman. I couldn’t ask for better!
