Q:

Has This Happen To Your Condor?

I noticed that where the cocking handle rests, it’s starting to wear away the metal and flatten a part of it. Now it started to scrape the cocking barrel. I contacted Air Force and showed them the same pictures and they stated it’s just normal wear. They stated if the rifle started to not function properly, they would take care of it. That was very comforting, but I wanted to ask the question to see if this has happened to any of the Talon Airgun members. The rifle is only 10 months old, but I shoot it a lot.

Thanks!

I used 1/4 inch plastic tubing and scraped it out to fit the shoulder, if you do not enlarge the tube it will crack and fall off. I have it on my Condor and T SS

I used regular hardware store plastic air hose, cut to length with scissors. No modifications needed to the plastic air hose and it never broke. Getting the correct size hose to fit the cocking handle makes a big difference?

Can you describe what you are talking about ?

I used 1/4 inch plastic tubing and scraped it out to fit the shoulder, if you do not enlarge the tube it will crack and fall off. I have it on my Condor and T SS

I’ve Tried & Tested these and they work Great.I got these at the Canadian Tire and this material is just soft (and rigid enough) to do the job.I just cut mine the length of the bushing area and slid it on as it’s a Perfect fit,(And you can shrink it if you like),but mines been bullet proof since New,(about 600 shots ago).

This is the only thing I was concerned about with my Condor,(and with a little Trial and Error),I’m really happy with the results and it’s also easy to keep them on hand,(but I don’t see having to change mine very often).

P/S: UAP here carries these here,,so I would imagine NAPA in the US has them as well.

Hope this Helps and Thanks,

Troy

I don’t see the little plastic bushing, Air Force received the same photos and they didn’t mention anything.

Kimber I think I can see the bushing in your photo.
I thought mine was missing at first until I took a closer look.
Take a close look when you cock it and you should see the bushing rolling when it contacts the frame.
The bushing on my rifle does not look like plastic.
From what I understand if the bushing was missing you should see the threads on the cocking knob, and that is what causes the major damage
My frame is worn the same way and not causing any problems yet.
I waiting until I have to take the barrel off, or replace the breach seals so I can file the burr off.

My bushing is steel, AF needs to make a plasic bushing.

I had the same problem, now I plan to cut the stop bigger

I had got this pack at radio shack but the size you want is 1/4″

I ordered a new Knob from “Subssonic” and it should help with the problem. I like the “heat shrink” idea, if I can find a “teflon” ring that would work great.

This will solve your problem. It is beating right on the corner where it is the thinnest.

While you have it in the machine you might as well do this. A safe safety.

Oooh I like that

Shrink tubing good idea did u uae a few layers or just one? I mean I like my plastic but I have a lathe

Just one. I forget the tube size but one I got a multipack from Radio Shack and it had a black one that fit perfect after heating. When I get home I will find the size.

They just make then, they don’t actually shoot them.

How do I know? They’d put a real trigger in it if they did…

I’m surprised they didn’t give you the iPhone response, “To remedy that you need to lower your power and stop shooting so much…” 🙄

How long did they produce a defective Condor valve and claim it was perfect only to replace it a few years later? 😉
