heatsink
got so many tools…even lathe and mill….but i dont have the time/opportunity to make something my self, little 5 month old Lucas does not like to be ignored, while daddy go whip something cool up in the garage(he does like to sit in the stomach hammock thingy and watch the car race by)……so….
i need a heatsink with as large fins sticking up pulling heat away from an electric motor, it needs to be able to clamp tight, but have minimum material under the motor as there is not much room, but fins may poke up something like 2 inches

but on a bigger scale
is there someone who can make that for me…..name your price….sorry to say theres not much room in the budget, wife allready bitched about the repair cost of my RC cars ESC and motor….damn post pregnancy hormones….but i figure i can squeese in a heatsink if it mens less risk of burning something, hehe
motor is 42mm diameter, and i forget the lenght and motor is shipped out…but about 10 cm (4 inches)

put in a fan
it gets HOT…too hot to hold or touch for more than a few seconds
CC wanted to see the motor and esc, until it has been “examined” by an ingeneer they would not comment….but the forums is littered with people with the mamba monsters going up in smoke/flames
my gearing is pretty much stock…the car came with 2 spur gears, a 64 and a 58….motor has an 18T on it….i was running the 58…..also im running 6S 25C 5A
theres a setting in the software called punch control…it limits how fast the esc feeds the motor…if thats used there apparently a higher risk of frying ESC or motor
i will be cutting the body’s windows and putting in some mesh to aid in airflow
how hot is your motor getting? if its too hot to touch you might need to change your gearing. i can still touch my motor for a bit after beating on it for a good while. also what did castle say about your esc and motor?

i looked at the cpu things …no go….

on the cpu thing…i went by fry’s too looks at possible solution…nothing even came close….i have a ton of cpu heatsinks of the oldstyle…but no way of bending it to fit the motor….i did try to heat it up with a small propane torch….in hopes that it would get near melting and form it self to what it was sitting on (a 42mm aluminum rod)…but no go…just didnt get hot enough, to either bend or bend by it self
maybe one of those big computer chip heat sink would work?

fans are ok for onroad driving…but offroad, they tend to get hindered by dirt and grit….my esc fan got ruined on the first day a little piece of dirt jammed betreen the blades and heatsink…not a good design…they should have incooperated a filter before the fan
id rather have a large heavy passive heatsink, than something needing a fan
