Q:

helium 110 bar AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good day for everybody!!!
Looking for more power I have read some about Helium. So……
I have an helium tank, charged with 110 bar and I have this numbers.
AIRFORCE CONDOR
L.W.24″
38.5grains, domed, tail boat (“Leonardo´s pellets)
chrony F1
TEST WITH 110 BAR OF HELIUM
TEST WITH 110 BAR OF HELIUM AND 90 BAR OF AIR
TEST WITH 110 BAR OF AIR

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

TRADUCTION;
MITAD Y MITAD: half helium and half air, 200 bar
PROMEDIO: MEAN
CONDOR STANDARD, WITHOUT ANY HAMMER, ETC ETC, STANDARD
condor standard.
cAN YOU IMAGINE WITH 200 BAR OF HELIUM?
For any of the members
of the forum, if some of you have experience with helium, please, share.
It´s a wonderful experience to shoot 38.5 grains pellets at 1000fps with only 110bar!!!

Trek has all the parts and the gun, but he promissed that he will take some pictures for me before/after he install it.

Last time I heard, his first test shot went through the 2×4 inch plywood, but he did not run it through the chrony yet.

either Trek or myself will post some pictures once the gun is ready.

Awesome 😀

I got blodnob big bore kit while back and send them off to Trek to help with other parts, mine will be .308, I got the LW directly from Woody. My 308 should be done anytime soon and it will be shroud to keep the noise down.

Mine will have no regulator and using the 53ci bottle.

Please post up some result and picture please. I’m very interested.

I’m just as same boat as your’s. Still waiting for the 28″ 9mm barrel to come. Got the 9mm blodnob big bore kit on order. It might plan to match with EtacReg at 2500/2700 psi with 53 cu inch tank. Mine is pretty much bone stock now but with every goodies from Adam. It looks handsome now and thanks Adam.

Do you guys think I am on the right path? My goal is to achieve good energy carry down the range over 150+ yard. I understand 9mm might not the best option for that long range. My next project would be the .308.

I will chrony it and post up the result and picture once everything in place. It’s long way to go but I’ll never give up.

NOthing could be fatal if you work safely.
If you work with the pressures reccomended, don´t worry.
I am waiting for a 9mm barrel to my condor, so, I´m very interested in your plans 😀 .
Do you have any modification to your condor?
It should be very interesting if you post your condor modifications (if any) and some chrony with air and with helium. It´s the only way to learn for everybody!!

Hi everyone,

I’m a newbie and saw some post about the helium fill but very few information giving out. Why not many people using helium since if it perform so well on energy? What is the down side of it? I saw there a post on airgun bbs said they don’t want this type of topic on their forum since it might cause fatal. Is that true?
This is a very interesting subject to me and would all the expert to share their experience. I am plan fillig helium in my condor 9mm.
Please help!

Takes allot more pressure to run a jacked bullet down the barrel than lead.

If this were a project i wanted to take on , i would shoot a bullet that was heavy enough to keep velocity down to 1050 so to not break the sound barrier 🙂

Seems I read some where that copper jacked bullets don’t work with air rifles, not enough pressure to push em through the barrel.

Couldn’t find any lead .223 rounds for sale. So are you planning to use copper jacked bullets and a powder burner barrel on a helium charged Air rifle?

Sounds good in theory, But looks to good to really work? Hope it does, would make an awesome air/helium rifle!

Sam 😕

Yep trying to find a PB barrel in .223 and then I’m going to try to use Helium to get it in to the high fps.

It’s the only way I can see using those rounds.

I´ll google it!!!
It will be (appart of costs) a very interesting and powerful gas!!!!

Most of it is hollow, completely disintegrates on impact, ‘blowing’ the target up if its small enough. Google it!!

that is why on some forums helium discussions are not welcomed. The fun part of it is that no major mods are needed other then finding/making ammo that will work with available .223 barrels.

Now I’m thinking about using helium with this ammo,

50 Gr Barnes Varmint Grenade .223, I’m going to talk to a gunsmith this weekend and see about barrels that I could use.

What is a 50Gr Barnes Varmint Grenade .223?
Sounds a cold war code!!!!! 😆

Hell, its getting into small calibre powder burning territory… 😯

This is the next step for airgunning for those that want more power, I sure do.

Probably for the Talon/Condor it would be best to make valves out of titanium and find use better o-rings, because the main issue with helium fills remains to be leaks.
