HELP!!! Vulcan crapped out!!

Hey guys,
My .25 Vulcan died on me and I need to get it reincarnated… I’ve been shooting my crickets lately playing around with night vision stuff with them. My Vulcan is my go-to gun for sparrows/starlings in the back yard/chicken pen… Was home this weekend messing around and a couple starlings were hanging out on the martin boxes so I get the trusty Vulcan out, cock it, take dead aim and …CLINK… the hammer falls but nothing happens. I look at the gauge and it is sitting on zero!!! So I’m thinkin’ OBVIOUSLY I have a leak somewhere… I hooked up my tank to it to refill and the air just blows right through… As a matter of fact, I got lucky in that the gun was on my tripod in my office and when I turned on the gas, it actually shot the pellet that was in the barrel out.. DUH!!! Scared the crap out of me, then I thought what a dumb ass I was… Anyway, It appears that something is stuck in the wide open position so that the tank will not fill.

What the heck do I do? I have the world’s captured supply of spare o-rings for it as I bought a bulk supply from a local house here in the Houston area. I don’t want to just start taking it apart until I try to find out what happened. The gun has been sitting on my table in my office pressurized continuously since I got it from Tony. Any ideas as to what you think may have caused this full tank dump and no re-fill?

Thx,
Charlie

Will do Zonk… but you’re likely to need 2 SS checks ’cause when you see it, you’ll want the lever and the stock!! Got the rail today to mount to the front for my bipod. When I get that mounted, I’ll get some pics up… hopefully by tomorrrow… COLD here in Southeast Texas… Too dang cold and windy to be outside shooting, might as well just stay warm in my Mancave and work on the gun…

Great news Slick! Get some pictures up so we can see this thing.

That’s a good news. Looking forward to your feedback

Well, I got my Vulcan back from Earnest and also got the new side lever kit from Evgeny yesterday… It’s butter smooth and Ernest has this thing so slicked up, I can’t wait to get out and shoot it.

With the new black synthetic stock, side lever, repaired air valve, Earnest tune, it’s like I have a brand new gun!!!

:biggrinn: :8: :8:

Hey Gang, Vulcan update:
Been emailing back and forth with Earnest. He got my gun week before last and has been working on it for a bit. He found the leak problem and fixed that. He had to resurface the valve body. The new valve stem Evgeny sent me would not seal for Earnest either. She holds air just fine now. He’s taken it all apart and worked his tuning magic on it and I got an email this afternoon that it’s ready to ship back to me first of next week!! I’m excited like a kid on Christmas Eve all over again! Can’t wait to get it back. Should have my new side cocking lever soon from Evgeny too… It’s gonna be a good spring! Gonna be some serious sparrow and starling carnage!!

That night scope I put on my .25 cricket has been devistating on the coons at my deer feeders this winter too! Best prep I’ve had getting ready for the “airgun shooting season” since I caught this addiction!!

Preciate all y’all’s help getting my Vulcan problem sorted out! :8: :8:

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and looking forward to a Prosperous New Year!

Thanks!
Charlie

:8: :8: he’ll do you good that’s for sure. You listening Ernest??

Well, I didn’t want to send it to him without him knowing it was coming, and he just got back to me after that “second email where I threw around some very important names in our community…” 🙂

Got it all boxed up… will take it to my office with me tomorrow and give it to Big Brown n tell ’em to “hurry”…

He Be Da Man dat’s for sure! What took so long Salt?

Well after more tinkerin’ around with no success, and the fact that Ernest emailed me back and told me to send it on to him and he’d get me runnin’ again… Monday, the Vulcan will be headed to Ernest the magic man… I’m already excited to see what he can do for it… My .25 cricket is sure sweet after he worked his magic on it!

Will post up when I get her back… :8:

Yea, Zonk that’s likely what I’ll do too. He did my .25 cricket, and of course it’s been trouble free and a tack driver…

Easiest way to contact him is to just email him? He still at his “earthlink address?

I sent you his #

Didn’t get it Zonk…

Salt you might as well just send it to Ernest if your getting a tune anyways. He’ll have the entire gun tore apart so why Fux with it?? Plus it’ll come back much better.
I had Ernest do two of my guns and for me $$$ well spent.
