i wasn’t going to buy the tri rail with the gun i didn’t know a 2 piece wouldn’t work thanks a bunch for letting me know that bikincrazy52 yeah im really excited to get the scope it sounds really nice im sure it will be exactly what i am looking for

by the way is that self stick tape that you put on your gun? it looks really nice i bought some of that at my local True Value and put it on my Gamo shadow

quote Snyder19:

thank you for your advice but ive heard better reviews about the bushnell legend and i think i am going to go with that

while talking about that scope does anyone know the tube diameter of the bushnell legend 5-15×40 so i can order the right mounts for it?

The Legend is a great scope and you will love it, I have one on a Beeman R9 and it’s one of my best scopes. You will need 1″ mounts for the Legend.

The legend has a one inch scope tube. Have you decided if you are gonna get a Tri-rail with your rifle yet? If you don’t, make sure to use a one piece scope mount. Your gonna love the legend.

I have that Leapers scope and it works out great for me on a Condor. As said above it can work for the money spent and I target shoot mine at around 18x and hunt at 10x most of the time.

thank you glad to be here this site has been very informative and ive learned a lot from it

airtight_python i guess i overlooked that when i was looking for a scope i think i will go with a lower power scope. more clear and less expensive

thanks rob i think thats what i will do pretty much every review i have read about that scope has been good ill let you know how i like it when i get it, im sure i won’t be disappointed 🙂

Really depends on what you want it for.

I like big mag scopes for target work, but for hunting, I rarely go above 8x, even at long range.

Leapers scopes are good and clear glass for the money, but if weight is a concern, you’d might be better off with something else as they tend to be quite heavy.

If you are looking for a good all around scope, the Bushnell Legend 5x15x40 is top shelf. For a step down in clarity (negligible) but a step up in magnification, the Banner 6x18x50 is nice, although I dont find it as repeatable as the Legend.

I’ve got the Crosman Centerpoint 4-16x scope.

Less than $80 from Walmart, for the price this has been a good scope.

One of the things I like most about it is that when the scope is set at the 10x setting the adjustment knob is straight up.

10x is what I use when I rely on the mildots for hold over at longer ranges, and being able to check by feel that the scope is set to 10x helps me a lot.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I have that scope with red and green illumation and mildot reticle. I find it to be a decent scope for the money. Optics are pretty clear until you get into the higher magnification. It becomes a little blurry.

Let me say though that if you’ve never had a high magnification scope there just might be a reason. I rarely turn mine beyond 10x. 24x is just waaaay out there!

Also, if you don’t need or want the illumation or magnification you might look into Bushnell Banner series. I hear they are good for the cash also.
