How often do you clean your barrel?
I have investigate it is high time clean cricket barrel after 1000 pellets. But I have feeling is good to clean each 500 pellets. JSB heavy .22 are more dirty as .177 cal.

I received the Patch Worm today and I must give the edge to it. Without the handle you can straighten the worm with a little heat and feed it from the breech end – at least on the Edgun and I suspect on the Cricket too which I will try later. The Crown Saver is a little tougher navigating the baffles from the barrel end. Not sure on long term durability but they are so inexpensive. I bought an extra worm, packages of both of their patch sizes, and a pack of the non-brass filament pellets in .22 to try. 😉
I have about 1250 shots through the .22 Cricket and 600 through the .25 Matador. There is no visible signs of dirt/dust anywhere on either gun and both are still shooting superb groups. I really wont know till I run a swab down each. Neither have rough barrels and the mandrel CZ uses on the Cricket barrel appears to be high quality. Technically, a CHF barrel should not need polishing like a cut barrel if the mandrel is perfect. Years ago we would have never considered a CHF barrel for match shooting but these days the quality has become very high from some manufacturers.
When you compare cricket .22 & matador .25 barrel which barrel has higher tendency to be dirty?
Don´t know about neither but generally the bigger the bore the faster it gets dirty due the larger “area”.

I love these. I have one for Airguns and one for powder burners due to the cleaning agent. Great for quick cleans to remove gun powder from the barrel and coat with oil before storage
Lubing w/Ballistol has helped w/2.5 so I don`t have to clean as often.Ted started using this on his 2.5was supposed to do a video on it about a year
ago but I guess he got sidetracked.I also lube for Benchrest,seems to help accuracy a bit.
After every two to three thousands pellets down range as reported by Demp223. The gun will tell you when its time and I’m sure everyone will see a little difference in their mileage. I’m somewhat anal in respect to accuracy and have not found a need to clean before a minimum of 2,ooo.
Woo Hoo for this new semi kit! Edgun leads the pack!! no disrespect to the Cricket owners as they too are awesome guns. Exciting times for air guns.

The barrel isn´t as well polished as on the newer R3. Gets dirtier faster.

I have an R2.5 so it needs cleaning about every 200 shots
About every 1000 rounds. A quick bore brush and then some wet patches with Remoil. Finally dry patches to remove the oil since it’s not great for o-rings. I use painters tape to protect the o-rings during the clean. Finally I shoot 50 rounds to line the barrel with the pellet’s protective coating.
I use AOA crown savers. I like those felt buttons for the Patch worm. I may have to add another accessory to the collection. I wait until I notice a group size change.

The PW will last for a long,long time. I´ve used mine on all my guns for quite a while. The felt + patch combo makes cleaning easy and safe for the barrel.
