Q:

How often do you clean your barrel?

I have investigate it is high time clean cricket barrel after 1000 pellets. But I have feeling is good to clean each 500 pellets. JSB heavy .22 are more dirty as .177 cal.

Hi,

I pull a few patches soaked in oil every tin or 500 pellets. I also lube my pellets with a wax-based lube called finishline krytech. I don’t know if a make a difference or not. I use it because it is part of my routine.

I used a Bore Snake before but i removed the brass brushes. Then i found the VFG swabs and use them with a 20/20 Concepts Patch Worm. Does a good job.

How do I clean barrel? I bought this from ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/HW100-Cleaning-Pull-Through-Cable-/260711204305?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cb39945d1 for HW100 but is useful to use it also for cricket/matador barrel.
Very easy to use.

The 22 gets swabbed appx every 2500-3000 pellets.
The 25 gets it about every 1k. The JSB 25 are a lot dirtier in the tin.

Now how do you clean your barrels….my cousin uses these little swab pellets that you shoot through the gun and it cleans it….but I want to try the snake and see how much of a difference there is between that and the pellet swabs

Yes I think best results will be after each 500pellets… BTW I find that the dust from pellets making dirtying effect for my combro sensors. After 50 shots are sensors so dirty that is impossible correct measurement 😡

I clean the EdGun barrel (.22) when those groups start to spread out – which is between 500 – 750 shots. So to keep it simple i do it after each tin,500 pellets.
I don´t know how my incoming Cricket wants it but i quess it will be somewhat the same.
