Q:

How to buy pellets at Pyramid much cheaper

Have you guys noticed that Pyramid totally jacks up the price for shipping and handling when you buy pellets from their own site, but when you access their site via Amazon.com, shipping and handling is MUCH cheaper? To Hawaii, I’m talking shipping charges of $20 on Pyramid’s own site for four tins and $6 on Pyramid’s site for four tins WHEN YOU GO THERE VIA AMAZON. It’s a no brainer. Amazon must have policies that prevent retailers from shafting customers with outrageously overpriced shipping/handling charges. The only problem is that, while I can get .25 Barracudas at Pyramid via Amazon, I can’t get Eun Jins. For some reason, they have blocked our ability to buy EJ’s that route. This is all very fishy.

Actually I just got my new 2-7×32 Barska scope from Amazon for $49 to the door. They used LaserShip and it appears from the tracking that the product was found locally. Pretty cool I guess. Not how well that can work off on the Islands though.

Thank you, Jerry. That is an entirely upfront and honest way to conduct business, and we all appreciate it. When I get a 24″ barrel, I’ll be sure to order some of your slugs, confident that I’m not being overcharged for shipping.

In the end companies have to make a profit on a commodity item (lead) otherwise they go out of business. PA offers a return policy that’s very handy – that costs a lot of money in staff time handling the return.

I’m not a PA spokesperson but we should realize “we get what we pay for” with PA also. And given they always have a 10% off discount – they’re trying hard to continue winning out business.

If PA reads this – please send me some 177 Kodiak Match pellets for free 🙂

I hear that Amazon is expanding it’s business model to be more of a logistics supplier. The lower shipping and greater visibility for PA ought to be a win – win but can appear odd. Maybe PA will end up moving all their internet sales through the Amazon path in the future to cut costs?

BTW, we ship pellets using priority mail and the cost is the same to US states and territories, even the islands… 😀

I wish I could buy .25 pellets locally but unfortunately, I have to go elsewhere. If you’re in my situation, I sincerely hope that my original suggestion will save you significant money on shipping.

As in this instance, we have kept your idea about buying pellets as cheap as possible alive in your absence for the past 11 days, since your last post on the subject.

Well said that Chap! 😆

Breeze back in 11 days later and moan about your thread indeed……. 😆

Man, this thread drifted way far away from my original observation that a guy can save a lot of money on shipping—in my case, $14 per order of pellets, not $2—when accessing Pyramid Air through Amazon rather than through their own site.

Talking cheap though, I’m getting 250 shiny clean pointed hollow point Crosman .177 pellets from WalMart for $2.00 + tax. That’s less than 1 cent cheap per shot.

Any way to legitimately beat our corrupt over taxed system out of 2 bucks is worth passing on.

I was more concerned today about many small earthquakes in Arkansas and the unusual amount of quakes around the super volcano, Yellowstone, in the past week. Then too a bad virus going around that I thought was killing me in Feb, and I just had Mom in the hospital for 4 days.

And, I’m no coward but I can’t let it all out. The real problems today are insurmountable without intervention from a higher power.

I heard about those quakes. I just read something about they remeasured the cavity under the yellowstone volcano and it’s way bigger than they though.

where i do NOT like the shipping charges on ANY product i purchase over the internet, i do understand the charges growing.

gasoline and diesel is now nearing the $4.50 per gallon mark here in the area of so. cal. i live in.

if a business expects to survive it MUST pass on it’s “cost of doing business” to the consumer. it’s that simple.

when i first moved to this area, diesel was $1.19 per gallon, at the time i drove a Ford F-250 diesel truck, now…diesel is nearly $4.50 per gallon…we’ve been forced to change our shopping and “going to town” now due to ALL increases.

it’s here to stay…unless somehow…oil companies are forced to reduce their profits and governmental entities are FORCED to reduce their taxes, fees and surcharges…that’s only PART of the solution.

Any way to legitimately beat our corrupt over taxed system out of 2 bucks is worth passing on.
