Q:

How to decrease HPA expent for Talon valve? The answer!

On the one of the best airgun forum in the web – guns.ru – once was a discussion about WERY big expent of HPA per shot on talon. And decision was found!
There http://www.sendspace.com/file/o6kzc0 is archve of that discussion.
Can somebody try to repeat?

If something is not understand – ask questions, I’ll try to explain.

Hey,

Yes i need a small tool too 😕

But they did’t have it in the shop, I only get O-rings 4×1,
and one Big Mac. :nono:

THX for the pic. try to make one from toolbit / or a broken tap.

Are we the only two suckers in the whole BIG world, who work on this idea ❓

Thanks Ewoodie,

In case it’s necesarry I ordered a special grooving tool for super small bores. Minimal 4,2mm.

Because I made the front piece of alloyed steel my normal grooving tool made from silversteel won’t work 😥

Well a small sacrifice in the name of talon science!

Cheers,

Marc

2 Marc COOL!!!!!

Ewoodie fired my interest in this valve design. So after 6hours of machining I’ve got my design finished! Just need to machine the transfer ports. Shure hope I don’t screw up those holes.

Ewoodie is testing the 5,5mm version so I’m going for the 6.35mm!

Any info is welcome!

Cheers,

Marc

Once a year I shoot the Eli. when we have an informal shoot with some guys, and someone want to try it.

Yes I’m a lazy guy 🙂 a PCP rifle is easy fun 😉

@ewoodie…do you ever shoot the Theoben Eliminator any more ?

Do not make with red O-ring this way!!! Because in open state You’ll get additional surface on which pressure press!

If You want to install O-ring – put it into the outer brass part.
But I guess that O-ring is’nt nececcary – HP air leaks will be wery-wery small.
I make on my own airgun walve this way and I do not find any air leaks.

Yes I know, did over think it also, Marc did told me the same, but I want to find out IF it helps a bit.

Did shot a string but I’m not impressed, it’s also a differrent thing 20 of 30 ft/lbs.

Next project to make the brass part with the O-ring inside 😕 ,
Ít’s for me a very small to fit an O-ring just 4 mm, but i did cut a few O-rings in 4.7 mm.
with a “normal” valvestem I don’t use these days an O-ring and have no leak.

Maybe I give a valve with a 45 dergee seat a go.

string 200 Bar fill. ( bit to much )

Very very nice!
I’m curious how many shots you will get.
(shooting string, is a bid strange name he 😉 espacialy with camo collars)

quote ewoodie:

with the small hole in the valve stem of 3,3 mm you need more hammer tension, then a valvestem with a big hole.
With a bit off pressure on the bolt with your hand, you can shoot 290 m/s with JSB that’s, more then 30 ft/lbs.

Instant problem solving. The sign of a genius at work ❗ :11:

Half way, the new valvestem with O-ring.

Try to finish it tomorrow.

just put an O-ring on the valvestem, yes only a small sholder but just see if it works, yes it works.

Now I’m going to make a new valvestem with an O-ring, but It’s all very thin 😕 maybe to night.

I don’t think I can use it for a hunting trip.
When it works I want to use it for a 1/2 year, to see of it’s okay.
