Q:

How to install hammer slap mod ?

Hi there , I just received my hammer slap mod from tony for my condor SS and I was wondering how hard is it to install ? Is there anything you should look out for while trying to install the hammer mod ? I received no instructions on how to install it correctly .

Hi , I was wondering if there is a how to video on how to install the hammer slap mod from talon tunes or from someone who has done the install on the condor SS ?

and DO NOT PUT SILICON GREASE on te hammer as previously suggested. This will gum up the hammer to frame and greatly slow down the hammer. Enough gets in there with use anyway, and has to be cleaned out or you get the dreaded slow shots frm time to time.

I bought a shot gun cleaning fuzzy stick for just this use. 😉

after you remove the safety catch you should be able to pull the trigger as stated in the previous post to get it out you just have to push on it also it does not just fall out. I think when i put max preload on the hammer spring that was enough to push it the rest of the way.

did not work looks like its time to go in from the other end 🙁

Oh well the dang mail got delayed so its not coming in today.

thanks for the help tho

Pull the trigger as you try to pull it out.

that worked 🙂 for the hammer

But the weight is still held in by a second “bump” I have not found anything I can push down on it that works I am not sure if it will go down any more and release the weight. I have used a wire with the end bent to try and hook the weight and pull it out but it will not go over the I assume its part of the trigger/hammer and I have tugged fairly hard. Do I need to cock the gun in order for that to go down ?

If you remove the pin that holds that finger and remove that finger you will now be able to de- cock the gun at will and also remove the breach and hammer from the tank end of the gun. Removing that finger was the first mod i did and i am glad i did it.

Ok my talon tune hammer with hammer slap mod is due to come in today so I decided to get read by removing the old one.

I have a new 1 month old condor ss I removed the tank. I removed the black plastic breach and removed its handle it came right out.

The stock hammer does not just slide out the back of the gun or at least not on mine.

I tried de cocking it bit there is still a small tab that sticks up from the safty that blocks the hammer from coming out ? or am I just being a newbie 🙂

Some how it is never as easy as it seems 🙁 any help would be welcome

thanks

Remove PW screw before removing bushing screws on the side, otherwise the spring jams it up against side of the slot.

I see , I guess you have to be carefull no matter what you do !

IF YOU GO FROM THE FRONT and pull out the baffles and the barrel remember to tighten the bushing screw that holds in the baffles.
I dry fired the gun after putting in the hammer mod and did not tighten the baffle bushing screws securely… :5:
The baffles blew out the front of the gun along with the end cap and knocked a hole in the sheetrock wall.
Wow thats one powerful air rifle !!!
The gun is completely 95 % quieter with Tonys mod.
I use the JSB jumbo pellets and have the .22 cal gun and the woodchucks go down instantly.
Unfortunately the gun is out of stock and next years model may include a multi shot version.
I think the O ring around the top hat helps too.

Thanks Rob just got back it was amazing!

Yes it did. The slap is still there but not nearly as bad.

Did the hammer mod quiet the hammer slap ?
