Q:

How to remove brass nut inside reg?

Does anyone have any tips? Do I just need to go looking for a screwdriver that fits or what should I do? The only screwdriver I have that fits inside the regulator does not fit the screw and the only one that fits the screw does not fit inside the reg….

I want to change the o-ring

Get a sacrificial blade screwdriver that fits the reg. hole nicely. Then you need to Dremel out the inside of the blade so it resembles a two-pronged fork with a rectangular notch.. It just needs to fit the brass nut’s grooves and at the same time clear the reg. nose that sticks up. The notch needs to be about 5 or 6mm deep if I remember. Im at work now but when I get home I’ll post a close up pic of the tool I made. Works perfectly. If you haven’t got a Dremel or similar tool, I suppose you could use a hacksaw to make the notch if you take your time and put the screwdriver tightly in a good vise.

I luck out and fond a round shafted screwdriver that fit.
If you can’t find one you might need to find a round rod that fits into the reg and grind it down to fit the slot in the brass O-ring retainer.

My slot head screwdrivers blade size is 1 mm x 7 mm which fits well.

Tip, also when reinstalling the retainer when tightening down it seem to have treaded ending/limit.
So I tighten it all the way down to that point and added a little torque just to keep it from backing out over time.
