Q:

I almost sold my Edgun!!!

I was actually thinking about selling my Edgun a few days ago so I could try a Daystate Airwolf or a 50 FPE Air Ranger. 😳 I was going to do this knowing I would definitely buy another Edgun, but I just can’t do it! I shot her again today and it’s just so badass! To tell you the truth, as soon as I removed her from the case and picked her up I already knew she wasn’t going anywhere. What if the other Edgun I buy isn’t as consistent as mine is?

The Edgun is so much more than just accurate. The Edgun is light and shoulders well. It’s short and compact and so consistent from shot to shot that it exceeds my expectations, which never happens. It is so quiet when used with the add-on SM that it sounds like it’s being dry fired when shot outside. If I am going to try to find something to complain about, I do wish it were a multi-shot but hopefully the rumors about the Semi-Auto kit are true. I also wish the gray paint were black or a darker gray. I want it to look like the one in the Edgun website that spins around. A high quality synthetic stock would be the best. Remember that I am trying to nit pick here… the Edgun is frickin awesome!!! If I do decide to sell it, I’ll have to buy another one within a couple of months or I’ll go into heavy Edgun withdrawal! I thought about selling my FX Royale 400 instead but I just got her and haven’t had a chance to really play with her yet, plus the Edgun is very easy to sell. The last one that was on The Yellow Forum sold for full price in 20 minutes. It beats waiting for 2 months for one. I’ll let the guys here know first if I do end up selling the Edgun. The Edgun is a must have for me and either way I’ll end up with one whether I keep this one or buy another in a few months. I just want to try the Daystate but I might have to figure out another way to fund my curiosity.

Are the edguns easily obtainable? How about do I get one. How do you guys refill them? I really like this bad ass rifle. There like 1500 usds?
Please respond quickly.

😀 v i’m pretty sure there is a big diffence in shots per fill.i think the cdt gets around 70 full power shots and the mct gets around 130 full power shots.i could be wrong but i dont think so.70 is still alot of shots and if you got a great deal that might just be the best deal.goodluck with your aw.

I did some research on my own and you are right. There is a difference between the two. This is a response I recieved from my question and I’ve verified it from the source so I assume it’s correct.

Airwolf MCT info

“The regular airwolf does not have a pressure sensor and therefore is also not mapped. In the MCT the computer uses the information from the pressure sensor to regulate the valve timing to get close to get an extremely flat power curve. The regular airwolf does not regulate the hammer strike. The flattening of the curve is accomplished in the same manner as conventional air rifles, by the air pressure behind the valve stem.

The mct does not have as many power levels because it actuay has stored in it’s memory bank the exact hammer strike nescessary to deliver the exact fpe at every fil pressure. This will of course vary for every power setting and so for 16 power settings it would be a LOT of information.”

I have switched my order over and I am now getting the MCT. 😀

X2 Edguns suck!

Just to rub it in 🙂 . I received mine last Thursday and had more testing time this evening…got to say the hype is absolutely true!!! Consistency and accuracy are just amazing. I’m hitting every dot I’m aiming at from 15 yards…it’s unbelievable.

I heard these edguns couldn’t hit a barn if you were standing inside, and the consistency sucked, and also that no one is waiting on orders from them because they were just terrible…I might just have to get those new red ryders from pyramyd air instead, me and Lama are done with this convo. lol

Most just explode the first time you shoot them. What he said, we’re outta here. 😆

And I’m going to keep telling myself that so I don’t have to buy one. 🙂

It does make a noticeable difference. The Edgun is already quiet especially when shooting outside but when indoors it still has a tiny sharp bite to it or maybe better described as a snap, remember I said tiny. The additional moderator takes this sound away and makes it very quiet. Some of the people here would be able to make a better one than the factory add-on but that really isn’t needed because the factory add-on does a good enough job and it doesn’t add much length to the Edgun. It is also very lightweight. I used my Edgun with the factory add-on SM to shoot inside my house while my wife and 4 year old son were asleep and they never heard a thing. The target was a couple of thick phone books in the garage. 😀

Varminter, I’m thinking about ordering the extra moderator for the Edgun. Have you had a chance comparing the noise level between with and without one?

AoA says the MCT will get 90 full power shots. Either way like you said, that’s a lot of shots. 😀

The FX Royale is sold and now I have enough for my AW and my Edgun is still by my side! 😀 I’m excited to have my dream pair. I can’t think of two other air rifles I want more. The Edgun and the Airwolf could end up being the dynamic duo! They are both so different from each other but great in their own way. The Edgun is compact and light and the Wolf is heavy and regular length but it is supposedly the “supergun of all superguns”. I guess I’ll find out for myself. Thank you Tachdriver for all your advice and help on making my decision on my Edgun purchase and now the Daystate AW. You said these were your top two so I guess I decided to copy you except I didn’t get the MCT and went with a regular Airwolf. I was able to get a very good price on a brand new Airwolf. I couldn’t pass it up for the price and from what I’ve been told from two Daystate dealers, the reg. Wolf and the MCT are exactly the same except for the display and some of the mapping. I was also informed that the computer mapping on full power is exactly the same for the two so they will be equal in air efficiency when set on full power. I just hope I get one that’s closer to 40 ft/lbs rather than closer to 35 ft/lbs. I hear the power can vary between rifles. I won’t have the convenience of the display but I will have 15 power settings vs. two, although this won’t really matter because it’ll rarely go off the full power setting. It’s been a revolving door for air rifles at my house lately. 😆

I was going to buy your FX , but you talked me into the edgun instead.

😆 😆

Mike, I visited your site, very beautiful, especially the prices 🙂 Having sold few of them you can buy not only Edgun but all the production facilities 🙂
