Q:

I am in shit again!!! arrgggg

Is three to young to shot a pellet gun? Would you rather wait until they are 12 and can tell you about SEX? So we had a little miss hap.
Nothing major, Maybe I should not put a target near glass.
All I was doing was fixing some stuff and teaching my boy to shoot.

I just tried to take the fall but lets say I was a little proud! He broke his first window at a very young age. My wife IS PISSED to her I am the worst man in the world right know.

She is Pregnant is that it?

Holy Cow Pabs! 😯 42??? 😯

Man I love the taste of Rabbit. Fired, dumplings, you name it. We have two cotton tails in the front yard at night. But they are just pets. And a “HUGE” pair of Jack rabbits.

I get a kick out of watching the Jacks.
Lop eared Varmints! 😆 Goofy as hell looking. 😆

Lol, 42 isn’t a particualy high number round these parts. Some guys go out of a night and can bag 100 plus 😯 This country is infested with them. Drive anywhere and you’ll see them sitting by the edge of the road, even in full daylight.

Thanks Stri’. Yeah she is a little cutie, she’s gonna break some hearts when she’s older( and I daresay I’ll be breaking some heads too).
That bit of land adjoins ours. It’s about 50 acres. My Ma has shared use of it for rearing a few beef cattle each year. I only go to shoot there every six months or so so the rabbit population is always healthy. We pretty much wipe them out on a visit but of course you can never get them all so they always repopulate.
Season is all year round and there is no bag limit on them. The record for one days shoot there was 42 😮

Very impressive. She is adorable. But I have to ask. Where do you hunt where there are that many rabbits? Incredible. Is there a season, bag limit?

Nice! Good shooting!

Thats a gorgeous lil girl. hell, i’m proud for you……lol!

Love to see post like that. Especially with girls as we always associate shooting with boys. It good to see a father and his daughter shooting/hunting.

Awesome!

Thanks Tof’ 😀

Heres the actual video of her doing it. Turn up loud to hear how pleased she was! 😎

And this one is the wallpaper on my phone.

There ya go.That’s what I’m talking about. It just doesn’t get batter than that! congrats! 😉 😀

Yup, I agree with the above posts. As long as they are constantly supervised then I see no problem. And as Tof says, if yov’ve bought your kid up right they’ll love having that time with you and enjoy making daddy proud. They’ll also know the dire consequences if they fuck around or touch anything they not supposed to.

My 4 year old

My 8 year old with her first kill (124 yards with HMR)

Can you tell I’m a proud father?….. 😆

Agree 100% with both powder and Tof. On so many levels.

Agree with Powder Burner 10000000%.

Showing your kid and gun and a kid killing his friends is usually the fault of the parent. Why? Well hell, how was he able to get the gun so easily in the first place. It should have been in a safe and not in a closet sitting there. THE PARENTS FAULT. And not to be too judgemental on some parents but, many parents today DONT INSTILL “FEAR” in there kids. Kids have no fear of anything. Back in the day, my grandpa and uncle showed me all their real guns. And let me shoot them ONLY when they were around. the main reason why they could go to work all day and i would NEVER touch their UN “SAFED” guns is because i had FEAR of how bad i would be WHOOPED! Fear of my Grandpa. FEAR! Gun safes were not common in the everyday household back then. hell, most common folks could only afford the gun and not the safes too!

I shoot just a lil bit now with my kid in the garage at 10 yards but again, i am behind him and the gun 100% of the way. My kid also HATES being in trouble with me and hates to see me mad. So he has some fear and he also has me “RIGHT THERE” to guide him correctly.

Just saying 😉

Real simple, i have had guns in my sons hands since that age, you do not take your hands off the gun when they are that age , and take nothing for granted.

they cant retain all the basic safety rules , so you repeat them every time you let them near the gun. cock the gun , put it in front of them coaching the whole way. my kids were taught that they were never to touch any gun without asking first, and that i would let them look at any of my guns , all they had to do is ask, coaching safety the whole way. 🙂

tickles,
You have to do some damage control to get back in good graces with the wife. Try to find a couple age appropriate children’s books.

Don’t change the stories to much but let him read to you whenever he likes. You’ll be surprised how different he can tell a story. Teach.him to enjoy reading and he will be the best fishing and shooting partner you could hope to have.

I took the grand kids to get some fishing gear and was I surprised how much it had changed.

I don’t own any real guns for personal reasons. I have always viewed pellet guns as toys not the real thing.
But I do feel a little like a fool now.
I guess I just want him to grow up so fast so we can do and like all the same things.

tickles, as much as I hate to agree with a wife about guns, I find myself agreeing with her.

My advice is to keep all weapons locked up out of that kids sight until he is at least 14. Because he loves and looks up to you, he may take advantage of the first opportunity to prove himself to you. One temporary unattended gun could kill the TV or the person watching it.

Good luck and remember it’s up to you to make sure the kid can’t make a bad mistake while trying to impress dad.

A friend of mine’s son, got dad’s gun from the closet shelf and while showing it to a friend it went off killing my friends son.

The mistake you made is the most important kind that should be shared so that many begin to understand the long term implications of what our children get exposed to.
