I feel it is my duty to tell on myself
First off let me say that this is no rookie mistake…. I have filled airguns
no less than 500 times in the past 3 or 4 months so I am very very
familiar with how things work BUT, Stress can do
crazy things to the mind….I was filling the Sportsman HV after doing
some work on it and the air tube was completely empty.. Knowing how
hot things can get when filling from empty, I was being very cautious not
to fill too fast and cause over heating.. As the gauge started to rise, it
suddenly stopped at 2,200psi for some uknown reason so I started to
open the SCBA tank valve more thinking that I might be running low on
air in the tank…. Well, all of the sudden something in the system
released and the gauge started to climb really fast and I started to panic
at the same rate… Instead of closing the valve on the SCBA, I continued
to open it thinking that I was closing it…. Well fortunate for me, my
SCBA only had 3,500psi in it so that is where the gauge stopped… I can
not tell you how un-nerving that was ….. As embarresed 😳 as I am
to tell this story, I figured it may be a reminder to all that handling High
Pressure Air takes patients and 110% of your attention 110% of the
time…. Things can go really bad really fast and you may not be as
fortunate as I was if it does….. I am off to Walmart to restock my azz
wipe Inventory…. 😯

Thanks for the heads up. Also keep in mind NOT TO STAND IN FRONT OF ANY
PRESSURE GAUGE WHEN FILLING ( TANKS ,BOTTLES, ECT.) The woman
at the dive shop told me last time I was there. I think she likes ME ?
Take Care, Bob
