Ending tank pressure?
This is not the velocity he is looking for. Let’s see a 30 shot string at 1050fps… And thus the amazement at 80’s string…
End pressure was 1950 psi.
If I ‘turned the gun up’ and put in a 24″ I would be able to get the same type of string in the high 900/low 1000’s But these Eunjins are shooting best for me in the high 800’s
But as syn’ pointed out, I’m using a highly modified gun. My Blod valve is the main component of being able to get a good long tight string.
We always talk about the ‘Balancing Act’ of fill pressure, preload and hammer weight. And tp setting, though I don’t reckon this is as vital as all that. As long as it has a decent stroke without bottoming out, and the stroke isn’t stupidly long, its all good. The point at which you get the long tight string is when you actually HIT that balancing act. The valve is JUST opening full tilit,JUST! You are trying to hang on that point as long as possible, JUST getting that valve open, then JUST a little more etc.
When you paper punch all day, you get used to where the pellet varys at a given fps, you adjust, carry on shooting, refill after 10 shots so you always know your poi etc. When I go out in the field I NEED 30 odd shots that I know where are going to go at up to 100 yards away. I cannot deal with a fps change of 20 fps let alone 100 fps from shot 1 to shot 30. I would be missing left right and centre.
Even the pro tuners show the fps results as high, then fps going lower each shot. What use is that to a hunter?
You need a good shot count at the same or near fps.
So there. 😀
Run of the mill is never an easy feat with AF components… 😉
True 😀
You just don’t get it do you? I’m not bothered bt what you didn’t say, I’m bothered by what you DID say!
did i not post that im gonna try 8s set points and didnt i say that i have tried different settings and they didnt work i did say i have a feeler guage and a micrometer and i guess im full of shit when i say my gun is zeroed in at fifty yds and shot a sparrow i also said i get 5 shot 3/8 in groups at 50 yds i never said one hole groups ive tried all things ppl tell me and this way works best for my gun
Bullshit! Don’t even start the crappy little victim crap! We all believe you can get 1111 fps out of your gun and that you can get decent groups. What chaps my ass and a lot of other folks who are grounded in reality is the absurd fucking exagerations that come along with your posts.
You started off with huge speeds that were not true and you’ve posted one trophy group and claim it as the standard for your gun. Horse shit!
The string you posted is what newbies think is good. The rest of us look at it and realize that for one shot at 1111 you’re giving up a dozen at 1090. It’s a shit string compared to many that have been posted here but instead of learning something from the group here, you’re going to argue and then claim to be pissed on for no reason.
So, if everytime someone gives you advice, like using a feeler gauge, and you dismiss it with some BS reason, or you have some other excuse for knowing it already or not needing the suggestion…well fine. Just don’t expect us to buy into your stupid exagerations like we’re fucking idiots. You claimed no POI shift with a 138 FPS spread! FT shooters get pissy with spreads in the low teens and your gun can put all pellets in the same hole with or without air pressure! Yeah, that’s an exageration but your claim was just as obviously BS to most of us!
So, I’m fine with you being happy with your gun just as it is, just don’t tell me it’s great or fucking magical because I’m not in the mood for a fairy tale. 80 Grit’s gun is clearly set-up far better and will shoot rings around yours. Don’t pay any attention though, just keep pretending yours is magic and we just don’t believe.
If I were you, I’d try to learn what people here are really seeing and how they got there. You ought to be asking Pablouk how the Hell he does it instead of bullshitting about no POI shift and acting hurt when someone raises the BS flag.
i got my gun shooting fast and accurate and its all disbeliefe
i think i did not sure now with all the confusion
Didn’t RJ say he was a speed junky? 😕
880 seems a bit slow when 1099 is available… 😀
…..Pab is also using an 18 inch barrel to get those numbers.
Pab’s string is with heavier pellets so we’re looking at apples to oranges here. They are both good strings. Far better than the max first shot string we’ve seen…

RJ,
Maybe the difference is in the trigger and how your squeezing off each round???
What I am getting at here is you will have the POI change with that much difference in the fps spread, your groups may well be as you say and its all from how you squeeze each round off and the poor quality triggers all the AF rifles have… The trigger assembly as a whole has nothing about them I like dude, LOL… You could very easy, make the groups your shooting with the setup you have, however I would think every so often you would see the wild flyer that goes off where nothing else is even close…
Unfortunately for me, my Condor SS with the new .25 caliber barrel is quite different than your setup LOL… I can’t shoot mine well enough and I see the pressure drop from the tank as the fps starts to drop…LOL
I have my rifle zero’d @ 3/4″ high on 25 yards… Now when I start to shoot with a filled tank I will see mine about 1″ right of center. Then after the first few rounds it moves back to center for the most part and then as the pressure drops the fps I will see the POI move to the left… All of this still the 3/4″ high…
Now this is what I know it to do as the POI shifts with the fps, what I didn’t tell you here was how bad each firing is with how bad a shot I am with this piss poor trigger I have LOL… So what I end up with is the zero’d POI of maybe a 1″ group if I really take my time and then take that and walk it from the right of center all the way back across the center and then proceeding to the left side of center as the natural POI shift with the fps drop I have… Make any sense???
I hope this might give you something to think on and help track what you very well may have going on there dude with your trigger. Your trigger and you shooting it may have the best thing working together… I on the other hand can’t shoot mine for shit LOL… I personally want a much better trigger assembly for my Condor SS… I have gotten so spoiled to the MK IV trigger in my Rapid MKII, I don’t shoot this Condor worth a damn anymore, it actually wears me out just trying to shoot this rifle any longer when I take it and shoot more than a few rounds with it…
Edit: I do like the looks of both 80grit and Pab’s strings!!! Those look really nice guys…
Example string that I am working on.
I was kindly given some tins of Eunjins, so I have been tuning one of my rifles to shoot them. Here is a work in progress 30 shot string…..
>22 cal 18″ LW factory barrel. 67 gram hammer, overall hammer and spacer is 69mm. 2600psi fill.
1- 870 10-888 19-879 28-869
2-882 11-883 20-876 29-864
3-881 12-893 21-875 30-862
4-884 13-891 22-876
5-891 14-890 23-875
6-890 15-889 24-873
7-890 16-887 25-872
8-892 17-876 26-866
9-890 18-878 27-871

26 shots in the middle of the string are within 10 fps of each other, which equates to .5 inch poi fluctuation at 100 yards.

looks like we got another hornets nest stirred up! 😈
Rowdy had a good point RJ. Perhaps your trigger pull is compensating for your poi and making it “appear” that you are having no shift. Jerry is simply standing on the side of Physics in that 100 times out of 100 times a 138fps variation IS GOING TO CAUSE A POI change.
