I hate you guys!
With all this shorty love lately I couldn’t fight the urge anymore and ordered a .22 Veteran Shorty…thanks for making spend even more money. Now I gotta go get my other guns ready to sell as I know between my .25 Standard and .22 Shorty I won’t be shooting anything else.

Similar enough that she hasn’t even suspected it’s different  I know it the Shorty makes the standard look like a long.
No I don’t believe FX is taking anything over. Sure they come out with super adjustable guns but they break and have leaks all the time. I’ll take the ready outta the box guns that kick ass! Aka Taipans.
Gotta say guys I never thought I could love another Airgun as much as my .25 Veteran. But damn this gun is just as good and I do love the super compact package of it. But I still wouldn’t trade my .25 Standard for a Shorty. I think the .25 is better in Standard and the .22 in Shorty. Looks like my other guns will be for sale shortly
DB,
Similar, really? Who are you kidding 🙂 That freakin Shorty is freakin’ way short man. It makes that standard look like a Long 🙂
Looking at it that way, maybe that is how I get the Long, buy the shorty and a standard, just look at them side by side 🙂
Oh yea I don’t buy FX taking over the market place either. Not from looking at things here on this site. Daisy and Crossman sell ass many here in the states.
Lol no I don’t anymore but my wife will when she finds out about it  it’s a good thing they are very similar maybe she won’t notice :biggrinn:
Sweet Dairy….
Nothing like a new puppy.
Enjoy. :biggrinn:
But I have too ask…..
DO YOU STILL HATE US?
Got the Shorty today! I love this little thing. Came shooting at 900fps with JSB 18gr which was way higher than I wanted. Turned down to 850fps with the 18gr to just see how many shots and it was close to 40 shots if I had to guess. Will run a chrony string later. And if it’s close to that many shots I won’t even turn it down lower like I had planned on doing. Accuracy was typical being one hole groups at 25yds.
I believe foxback has it right Mike. The veteran 25 is a dualdrilled TP so I’d wonder about the breech is it drilled a special way also for 25? As far as we know they never produced a veteran .177. How ever not the case for the mutant.177. The .177 and .22 magazine same OD same thickness.
Mike
Oh yes you do, thats why you keep going too AGN.
And yes, it is entertaining!
Why not use your 22. Taipan for a .177
The 25. short is so dam good as it is.
I think that the 22. short would work great 4 what u are after.
Unless your are going too use custom .177 slugs or some thing. 🙄
Lol I bought mine on PayPal credit as well iride. 6 months no payments no interest can’t be beat. Good thing my wife doesn’t go on that account  I .177 would be awesome and I would buy one as well. I think they should make a .30 as well. Have a collection Taipans in .177, .22,. 25, .30 I’d collect them all :biggrinn:
Hell , I bought mine through Pay Pal, You know buy now pay latter,, LOL.
No interest for 6 months ,,,
I want a 25 shorty converted over to 177 cal gun,,,
That would be one bad Mother fucker, excuse the French,
I know Dman can do it, and Earnest can do it,
This is the 177 gun I have been waiting on, Naw I am not talking 2,800 FPS, I will have it tuned down to 960FPS or so,
Do not what that lead melting in flight.
Mike
The 22. shorty’s are super quite at that power level.
No can needed. :biggrinn:

And……….. your tell us all that you, don’t cave in too peer pressure!

Lol the Standard .25 will be staying. I love that gun way too much. My other guns like Daystate Regal XL in .25 is going to be sold. Possibly the Prod later on as well. I do gotta say though the Shorty sounds like it’s going to be a great gun and if it’s anything like my .25 and my Mutant was it will definitely be staying. Will probably only own Taipan PCPs.
On the Shorty I don’t plan on adding an LDC as the only reason I’m getting the Shorty over a Standard .22 is simply to keep it short as possible. Plus I’m not going to be shooting it at full power and probably in the 25fpe range at the highest and probably going to detune to 650fps with the 18gr. But in all reality depends on what the shot count of the Shorty is and noise.
I will be posting accuracy pics of both out to 100yds once I get the Shorty and also once the damn wind ever stops here.
I WILL NOT succumb to your peer pressure Dairyboy, or yours either Mike, that goes for you as well, Fox. Sadly enough, although I do want to hang out with the “cool kids” in school, I don’t have the money. Donny Du fucking all but FORCED me to get a compressor with all his taunting and a little bit of nagging. Just the cheap Yong Heng which will be here next week. So now my funds have been depleted. No Shorty for me anytime soon.
Dairy, you gonna Sumo the Shorty or leave her naked? I guess you’ll know for certain when it arrives. Being a .22 vs .25 it ought to be quieter, but then again the shorter barrel may make it louder. I know you want compact to climb through thick brush and trees and field obstacles but you also don’t want to miss follow up shots on those squirrels’ and birds’ homies by scaring them with an air blast. I’m guessing you’ll keep her naked this go ’round.
Alas, you’re still probably right. If I do come into some funding, I’d probably get a shorty as well. I was thinking another .25 but honestly, I’d probably get the .22 Veteran Shorty. I think shot counts will be close to the same on a .22 Shorty and .25 Standard.
Dairyboy
Take a real good close look at the .25 veteran SHORTY , You may be selling your standard,
I got two crickets that may be hitting the Yellow pretty soon, And I thought I would never say that.
I got to think of it as rent, Not money lost, :2cents:
