I see on the Yellow that parts for English made air guns may
become unavailable.
It appears the Royale mail is proposing banning the shipment of Airguns and their parts. According to the post on the Yellow, it appears the Royale Mail feels they are breaking an existing law.
The post says that the Royale Mail is the only source for shipping available, is this true?
The author, T.W. Chambers and Co., says it could put them out of business.
So no more parts, magazines or air guns to US soil from AA Daystate et. al.
Sad state of affairs.

as others have mentioned there are no shortage of common carriers in the UK
folks should remember that there is a brisk international trade in antique arms and spares in and out of the UK
Think how it would be here if they quit shipping gun parts, accessories or ammo here in the US. Surely they have an airgun lobby in the UK.
They generally roll over and accept whatever laws are thrown their way without complaint. The view on the vast majority of airguns boards is not to complain and try and go under the radar.
The stuff your not allowed to post on the AirgunBBS for fear of upsetting people is ridiculous.
I’m sad to say I’m English on these occasions.
They have UPS/FedEx/DHL etc. They are quite a bit more expensive than Royal Mail though – partially due to “customs brokerage” and partially because you have to use an express method of shipping, No “ground” scale.
I figured it was going this way when the Government banned mail order sales of Airguns a couple of years ago.
Is this a major concern? Are their other means of shipping that are viable?

Seems that it’s true but maybe not known, as of yet, to the bulk of the UK shooting public. If anyone is a member of a UK forum, you may want to mention it.

Well if it is true, I could only imagine the uproar being sounded in the UK. Airguns are a HUGE part of their “gun culture”. I’d bet there’s a movement brewing to get the law changed, or an exemption or what ever.

Wellit could be the mass hysteria that the Rifleman spreads in each and every monthly magazine also.

England has the same number of non-government cargo carriers that all other nations have.
The Royal Mail is but one option for individual or small shipments. One most likely to be used by small businesses and dealers, hence their concern.
Large shipments are not sent via a mail service. They would use a common carrier for bulk shipments. I seriously doubt any English rifle owner will experience any inconvenience if they are dealing with a U.S. dealer/retailer of English products.
Just my thoughts.

Black market air guns and parts, kinda mixes ridiculous and dark, criminal activity, just like congress.
Hoot, you better get a replacement air cylinder for your AA before the price goes up. That sucker’s probably beat into an unusable pile of scrap by now.
