Q:

I’ve gone over to the other side.! first post

Hello everyone, been reading all the valuable information and decided to go over to the dark side, just ordered a condor should be here in 2-3 days.
I have RWS M 6g,M48,M34 and Sheridan pump bought in the late 70’s & sheridan co2 rifle. All rest are powder burners.
Never shot a PCP so this should be interesting ,need to find a scba tank, have located several local.

1.First question ,I have found a OMS Steel 125 SCUBA tank looks bran new ,born date 1997, last tested in 2003 for 200$(but it has a DIN valve),and it needs hydro test. is this a good deal.,found place to do the test for 50$,
They said they can charge to 3500 ,havent found anyplace yet to charge to 4500 in case i find a high pressure tank.

2.Will the DIN valve work with the air force adapter
3.Have found new hydo 80 steel tank for 125$

So do i need to keep lookin or get one of these.
Thank ‘s in advance

I went to the scuba shop close buy and ask about tanks and charging and told them i was looking for a high pressure cf bottle.and ask if i could rent a scba bottle or something until i found a cf tank and he said he would charge my air force tank any time i needed it ,just come back and get another charge.

The first tank i shot 20 shots 1017,1078,1028,—-,—-,—-,—-,1037,1048,1050,1082,1049,1044,1083,1091,1083,1091,1083,1090,1091,—-,—-,—-,—-, Pigeon. fill to 3000 was 2100 when refilled.m power wheel on 1, Gamo S.D. 15 G. pellet

—- is not thru chron. pigeon, 30 yard shot.first blood. Dropped way harder than my 177 ever dropped something that big, this condor is going to be alot of fun. ( its to loud)

Have a 4×12 mounted and ready to rock. Have some Beeman crow mags .RWS -superdomes,hollow poins, Match pellets and some gamo super domes.

I going to the dive shop and see about a tank. Maybe a renter or something until i can get a high pressure.

Ain’t nothing worse than having the toys but no air/batteries/fuel…. 👿 😆

Buy the way this condor is really nice, the finish fit and over all looks is great. Needs a little more weight forward, the trigger is not bad at all ,1 3/4# with power wheel on 1, 2# with it on 12.

I’m going to need a shroud il’m sure.but want to shoot it first to see on the lowest setting and go from there. It’s christmas around here .

You may also try looking in Ebay for a CF tank. I’ve bought a couple in there. Search for SCBA tank!

Wow that did seem like a good deal. And a bad time for me to get busy.
I would really rather have a bigger bottle .

What’s the easiest way(least expensive/best) to get the air from one of these bottles to the air force tank.

You need the part that goes on the big bottle`,and adapt to air force tank.

IMO, for $225 this is a hell of a deal on a tank of this date if you can get away with a 44cf. You’ll actually do better cascading two 44 tanks than one 88 if you were to get another. I’ve bought from Jeremy before and he seems like a good guy.

Head you reminded me of something .. the gauge on the Airhog bottle is uh well ummm … cheap.

I need to upgrade mine to a nice liquid filled or something. Got any leads for me ??

I don’t know what size fitting you need to screw the gauge into but they are typically 1/8″ or 1/4″ NPT. I use Ashcroft at work and they make excellent gauges but are on the pricey side. The one Joe uses is an off brand but I have no complaints with it at all.

You can see it is 1/4″ NPT bottom mount. Dual scale 0-5000psi /0-350 bar. Stainless body, I think it’s a 2 1/2″ dial (don’t have it in front of me), glycerin filled although you really don’t need that since the tank isn’t vibrating. I’d check around McMaster Carr, MSC, Grainger and find a gauge you like. Then search for that part number on google as someone else will likely have it a lot cheaper lol.

I have not seen the fill adapter you are talking about so I can’t tell you if it will work.

I went through the same debate when I bought mine as far as the Joe vs. Airhog pricing. I went with Joe and I’m glad I did just for the quality of his hose/fittings and gauge. He is IMO a bit high on the tanks but you get $25 off if you buy a tank & hose assembly at the same time. I’d browse around on here and the yellow forum looking for a used tank & buy Joe’s fittings if your adapter wont work.

I did confirm the paintball shop will fill a 88 cf tank to 4500 for 20$,5$ for small bottle .I looked on Joe Brancato’s site and he still has tanks ,395$ for a 88 cf, 169$ for the hose and gauge assembly i assume i need the hose and gauge.

That’s like 565$ for his set up,pretty close to a bran new 88cf bottle
from air hog with hose 650$,,

I ordered the AirForce Air Tank Refill Clamp with Gauge for SCBA bottle-with the rifle . Wonder if i can use it with a carbon tank set up with adapter of some kind.

If you can spend the dough for that Airhog CF tank do it you’ll be glad you did. I have my own compressor and still bought the CF bottle from Airhog … I’ll never have to worry about that bottle ❗

Welcome to the TAG.

I bought my tank & hose assembly through Joe Brancato. http://www.hamcontact.com/airgun/HoseAssembly/ His prices look expensive initially but the quality of the hose & fittings he uses are top notch and he was able to get every fitting needed for me to use with the AF guns. Like WOK said though double check on that paintball shop as the guys around here wont fill anything bigger than a paintball tank as it requires their compressors to run for too long and overheats them. I currently go to a Fire safety equipment store where they do fire extenguisher refills etc. They charge $5 per tank to fill.

I also bought a spare 45cf tank from JSLATEIV on this site, I don’t know if he’s sold out at the moment or not but he got me a used tank with a fresh hydro and shipped it out promptly. Send him a PM and see what he’s got.

Regards,

Right , I’m looking for a carbon high pressure tank if i can find one.If not I’ll get a scuba 80 c f.

They might be able to fill a paintball tank but not a scuba or breathing tank.
