There you go, explain why they mostly looks so plain. They advertise them in the shops as Walnut but never seen one up close until now.

I think the other wood they use looks a bit like sapele which I’m sure a lot of other manufacturers use as ‘walnut’ I had an FX T12 and was supposed to be walnut, got it and no way! I used to work around that trade and took it to a mate who’s been working with wood for last 30 years and he said that was Sapele

Very nice jameswrx.. Can you post a link to the shop where it was purchased?

I didn’t know they still made walnut stocks. I thought they went over to beach a while ago. Very handsome stock indeed, gratz

As promised..

My new .177 short. They do exist.. Even the manufacture date is 12/5/16 stamped in the book so I’m pretty happy with the service.

Wouldn’t say it was the best grain walnut I’ve ever seen, but certainly better than average for a cricket.. They normally look very plain, this is also quite brown too which is nice. I’ve seen better, but the majority I see posted are too plain. I just didn’t want to buy walnut and get a totally characterless grain, didn’t expect much to be honest as all these Eastern European bullpups are similar for boring wood.

This shot gives a true image of the colour, it’s a nice tone to me.

I’ll update with some better pics in natural light, been an awful day here and pics under my halogen lights make it look red for the most part.

I was wondering how Awny had it set for jacks. Mine is set at 900 fps with the 10.34s or 19 fpe. I have taken two raccoons and a ground hog at that setting but they were all perfect head shots. I just shot another ground hog with the Short Mutant set at 26 fpe with 18.1s but again it was a near perfect head shot.

740-930 by adjusting the hammer spring cap only without messing with the reg. thats what you are asking? i think anything in these range is lethal.

they are just beautiful compact little gun. i hunt small game and ft with it. got 17 out of 25 with 6 Xs at 25m benchrest. was super windy. i reckon this is one of the must have airgun.

Any idea what fps it is shooting the 10.34s?

quote Awny:

Got mine a year and half ago. Been my most used since.
I dropped large jack rabbits with it using 10.34 gr just like I would do with a 22 cal.

Here a pic of baby cricket with its larger 22cal standard and 25cal vulcan siblings

With the Short Mutant in .22 I might consider selling the standard Cricket now which is .22 but never the Compact Cricket in .177.

Very nice.

I’m curious how much does it weigh?

Please post pictures. Kalibrgun supplied an upgraded walnut stock?

Kalibrgun will be offering skeleton wood stocks in the next couple of months but not in walnut. If I am not mistaken this was stated at one of the gun shows this winter. A lightweight synthetic skeleton is also suppose to be available.

That is one of the best looking WST stocks :4: Great!

Looks great in the photos but has some dings. The Compact is used for FT matches and hunting. 177 is perfect for backyard plinking, chipmunks, crow/starlings and squirrel. Mine is shooting 10.3 and Crosman 10.5 at 900 – 905 fps. Quarter size groups at 55 yards with both pellets consistently.

Nice
