Q:

I want to set up my gun for hunting

I want to set up my gun for hunting exclusively, That means I don’t care about the shot count I simply want the best Power/accuracy for pure hunting.

What do you guys suggest? It is a .22 Cricket Compact so only a 390mm barrel.

Seems a lot of people like to shoot 18gr at 880 fps or so, is that a good Place to start? Like I said I do not care if the shot count suffers…

I am sick of paper punching and just want a grab and go Crow killer 😀

Same here with my .22 cricket, 18.1 JSBs. I sight in at 50 yards dead center, I’ve killed woodchucks out to 127 yards with one shot to the head.

No problem at all, nice pics!! 😯

Greg…

You have got a very nice blank stocks. .. i prefer to use the nicest one for your Edgun … don’t get me wrong. ..but Edgun stock design is far elegant than Cricket. …

Plz make them….and would like to see them….

Very nice Hemn !!!

That is true, need luck to get a nice Edgun stock.

I have stock piles of Hawaiian Premium Curly Koa, but no time to make stocks for guns.

i can say that i have a good luck on getting nice stocks,,,, especially the STD stocks,,, here is some pics of what i got…

this one was for a friend… and i quite envy him at that time,.. :biggrinn: :biggrinn:

here is mine … but the Vulcan and the .30cal Matador are not mine … sorry for the poor quality of the pics,,, i usually take all pics from my cell phone,,,not like Peter … with the best camera …

this is my beloved one and my best friend so far,,,if the short doesn’t take its place

and here is the future blank stock for my Edguns 😯 😯 😯 each piece about 700 euro or more … just joking ,,,, but this is a Turkish Walnut stock which they are about 300 years ,,,(this is based on the onfo i got from the company in Turkey) …

Nice pictures Cricket and Hemn ( 😯 nice wood on your .22cal Short Edgun)!!

For me to hunt JSB 18g at 880 fps is better then 920 fps and always wondered why I was smacking them more often at 880 fps until Keyser soze made his video on BC.

Ask and you shall recieve

Super accurate… very good … then if possible make your Cricket like i explained,,, i wish you can post a pic of it//

I would say it is accurate enough :biggrinn:

Very valid points, thanks man, I’m guessing you shoot 18gr?

Yes,,, i forgot to mention this in fact,,,, use always 18.1gr JSB and Edgun pellets …no more no less…

and the point of accuracy is something that we don’t need to discuss about,,,because if basically your gun is not accurate ,,,you shouldn’t even take out from your home…only for paper shooting …

Very valid points, thanks man, I’m guessing you shoot 18gr?

My Brother ,

my best rifle for hunting will be like this,

compact and lightweight,

try to remove all accessories for shooting targets, make the weight light as much as possible,

to be more compact you need to find a short and lightweight scopes as well,,, also put medium or low profile mounts, to reduce the height of the rifle

since you don’t care about the shot count,,,, and your rifle is .22cal Cricket,,,then it is the best choice,,, and try to set the gun to 930FPS ,,,since this power is very unique for hunting with .22cals…

i found that the best for hunting is the most compact (length + height) and lightweight … my STD is my best rifle for hunting, and i got my Shorty Edgun .22cal… im preparing it to be my STD’s girlfriend 😀 😀 …. and i think this damn short will win over the STD even,,, 😯

this is my .22cal Short Edgun ,,,which i finished all settings that i wished to be …i really like the Edgun scopes for its compact and lightweight,,, also the rings that came with

also,,, try to make the practice POI checking for been sure 100%
