if wanting more power from a talon ss would it make sense..
…from a 12″ barrel? My concerns are will there be too much of an air blast coming out the crown possibly causing the pellet to “wobble”?? and secondly if the air blast was not a concern…does the short 12″ barrel offer enough length/twist to get the pellets spinning fast enough to remain accurate at those higher speeds??? Thanks for the replies so far. My questions were more for educational purposes. I really am not looking to change my SS. I like it as it is (stock) for a great plinker! I have a powerhouse .25 AAA Condor.
But no one has offered their opinions on whether such a short barrel would be able to spin the pellets fast enough to stabelize them (in lieu of wasting air or clipping)???
shot count with the 12″ would massively decrease…this is why you see few 12 inch condors.. not effcient…for the talon the idea is to go to the 18″ barrel prior to valve modding…with a shroud extension to keep it SS quiet… I have a TSS with stock valve in .177 with 12″ and have pondered on this…perhaps a 12″ .25 barrel might be your ticket with a slightly tuned up valve the extra bore dia. will give you more power in fpe…
Yeah, that’s what I was wondering. Right now, at 860 fps with 14.3 gr CP’s it puts them through the same hole at 20 yards all day long. I was just curious if the “quest for power” on this platform is futile from the start?

I got decent accuracy, however the blast would upset my Home Depoe insert stack of washers and copper unions after quite a few shots and cause clipping, then the accuracy would go south.
