Q:

Is the VULCAN the Perfect Bullpup?

I read somewhere that the guy behind the Vulcan design and production used to work for Kalibr and Cricket thing, and the Vulcan is the result of correcting the mistakes he saw on the Cricket as well as adding his improvements.

I tried and have not yet seen much any reports and discussions on problems with the Vulcan. We all must have seen the issues with the Edgun and Cricket a long long time ago.

This led me to ask… is this the perfect bullpup so far?

Except for a comment of the plain wood used in a stock, it seems everyone is perfectly happy right from opening the box.

If they can make a Vulcan 22 shoot with the devastation of a 25… I guess it would make the very perfect Vulcan 22.

What hammer slap I hear around… can someone please elaborate?

It’s a one for one exchange. All Peter wants is the shroud housing. Your new shroud will come complete. Make sure to ask him for the 1/2 UNF cap so you can add an LDC.

Peter will sell you, the baffles in a modified shroud.
I think for $200.00, then you send yours in as a core swap out.

Then you get back $100.00 around this price.

No it’s the exact same length. He actually uses the factory shroud and just replaces the baffles.

So does he sells you the baffles or full shroud with new baffles? And how much?

Please do because mine is very quiet when someone is shooting it. I can’t imagine doing such a good job considering the whole length of the gun/shroud

AJ, I have the “colibri” model on my current Vulcan 25. It is way better than the original set up. The gun is louder to the shooter as compared to the observer because of the valve/hammer. I have not tried his LDC yet but I assume it is a lot like the donnyfl set up like Hoot described. I will try Peter’s LDC and report back if it’s worth it. I’ll use my decimeter so that it won’t be an opinion.

Do you have any experience with the screw on moderator that Peter discusses on his website? It looks like he is offering 2 options 1. The Colibri internals; 2. an adapter and screw on moderator.

eelect, yes in the 25 caliber it is slightly more effective than the factory moderator. The Vulcan with Peter’s shroud has become more quiet than my EDgun. Peter’s shroud is an exact copy of the Colibri.

But Peter’s shroud is also 3.5 inch longer than the factory. right? that alone can explain it

The pressure is killing you as in BAR pressure or the wait

Honestly I don’t fill mine all the way to 250 and all my stuff is 4500 psi. I have found that in the long run filling to a little over 200 BAR saves your bottle.

haha… bar pressure.. in a way

I almost forgot that I am a low pressure advocate… because I fill from a scuba tank, my perfect gun would fill at about 2000 – 2400 psi max. .. and shoot in that zone.

Sorry… no pumps here. A perfect gun is enough to keep me fit.

I like to pump to 250. It helps keep me in shape so I can keep the Indians in control.

I could not sleep last night thinking about the Vulcan.

Then, I realized that, it is really not perfect, but close to being one. My reason is, the Vulcan achieved these high praises of near perfection out of the box through a high pressure fill of 250bar. I fill from a 3000psi scuba tanks. The sweet spot of my guns are usually in the 2400psi (165bar) zone.

There is no way I would be able to play in the 250bar field. 😥

The pressure is killing me…

If the VULCAN is not perfect, would you recommend it to your worst enemies so they will suffer with a not perfect Vulcan?

No my enemy would suffer with having the best pcp bullpup to date
