Is the VULCAN the Perfect Bullpup?
I read somewhere that the guy behind the Vulcan design and production used to work for Kalibr and Cricket thing, and the Vulcan is the result of correcting the mistakes he saw on the Cricket as well as adding his improvements.
I tried and have not yet seen much any reports and discussions on problems with the Vulcan. We all must have seen the issues with the Edgun and Cricket a long long time ago.
This led me to ask… is this the perfect bullpup so far?
Except for a comment of the plain wood used in a stock, it seems everyone is perfectly happy right from opening the box.

There is no such a thing as a perfect Bullpup or perfect gun or perfect any device. There is an improving technologies pushing for higher qualities and lower costs and devices will continue to improve as long as there is demand.
Having said that there is only one exception which is the older version of crossman 1377 American classic. That was the perfect gun. OK close 🙂
I would say Vulcan is quieter no question.

Eelect, you had a Cricket 25 before. How does the vulcan moderator and report compares to the cricket?
I think there never will be a perfect bullpup. We will probably see better and better ones come along. If we want to lay out some guide lines as to what would define a perfect one that would still be debatable.
I will say this. When you plop down that kind of money there are a couple of key elements than need to be met.
#1 Accurate
#2 Reliable/Durable
#3 Quiet
#4 light
The Vulcan has met these elements for me, except I would have to put some 10K pellets through it to check out how well it would hold up. So far I can’t find anything I would call cheesy that would fail early or prematurely.
I have owned a few high end guns and the Vulcan is hands down a clear winner right out the box.
I would have absolutely no problem recommending this gun to my friends. I can’t say that with my other ones. BTW Ernest does not have to run his magic on these guns as they are truly a finished product. My opinion is if a gun is that bad from factory and needs to be sent to a tuner to satisfy the customer then that product is not complete. The Vulcan come complete from factory. No $150 dollar tune needed.
hearing all the whispers and talks, including the praises of those who owned high end airguns, IF it is not The Perfect Bullpup, but so close to be perfect …
then it must be The PERFEC Bullpup…

eelect, yes in the 25 caliber it is slightly more effective than the factory moderator. The Vulcan with Peter’s shroud has become more quiet than my EDgun. Peter’s shroud is an exact copy of the Colibri.

Fox , Steelman said it in much shorter words. Sniperqty thinks The Vulcan is the best so far from mechanical , material and output aspects , but also he admits that “The Perfect” gun is not out yet.
Sniperqty got all the top bull pups . First thing he shoots every new gun a full string through a chrony out of the box condition. Then he takes it apart.
He spends almost all his time in his little workshop testing , comparing and tuning.

Keyser are you saying Peters latest baffle design makes gun even quieter than this last batch of guns. Its hard to believe. I had someone shoot my 25 this weekend and am really impressed with how well it works. But when I shot 22 it looked like there was something wrong with the gun. How much does peter charge for shroud mod?
If I get deployed back to Kuwait, I will be glad to pay Kmhusain a visit and try to translate things to English..
SniperQTY is most frank about his comparisons between Edgun, Cricket, Ataman against the Vulcan. And he says, after having opened up all of them, that the best features of them all are incorporated in the Vulcan design.
i think what it was with the stocks, every one went crazy for the pin up model.
with the really nice grain on it. and some guys were thinking that all the stocks would be that nice.
the one every one fell in love with, was the centerfold model featured on brochure.

Regarding the stock, I am somewhat surprised how many negative Forum comments on the Vulcan center on the appearance of the wood..
Used to shoot competition trap for years and purchased my dream gun…Krieghoff K80 with a custom high grade walnut stock. It was simply beautiful, especially if it were hanging above my fireplace. Instead, I used it successfully in many competitions and yes…cried every time I added a new scratch or nick to that beautiful stock.
May sound silly but I will enjoy my Vulcan more with its field grade stock.
What you guys are looking at is the second generation moderator. It is about 30 percent more effective than the first generation. It also has the added benefit of a removable cap where you could have 1/2 UNF threaded cap made for it. This design came from the colibri, a gun that Evgeny worked on. The modifications of the Vulcan came from the end-users communicating with the owner about wants and needs. The 3rd generation you are speaking of is actually TGAGs design. It is similar compared to the 2nd generation. Peter’s shroud is about 20 percent better than the 2nd gen shroud

I’m certainly very satisfied with my Vulcan 25, it’s my first PCP but I did lots of research prior to purchase. I think the gun dealer that you purchase from is very important as they should be able to go over the gun and tweek it if needed so the gun is performing out of the box. Sinperqty in my opinion knows the Vulcan inside-out as he is always taking them apart. It looks as thought he is talking about the gun quality from a design standpoint but I don’t really know what he is saying. It’s a shame that we can’t find a way to get his vids converted to English because I think he is the most knowledgeable about the gun, other than the manufacturer.

When I fired 22 cricket the other day I thought it was broken or something. The 22 is much quieter than 25 but I’m completely amazed how quiet 25 is when you consider the size. I have a friend that shot it last couple of days and standing about 10 feet off to the side there was not a big difference between the 22 and 25. So it’s hard to explain. Even if you are a bit to the side but in front of gun it’s still not loud. It truly has a good moderator.
