Is there an Edgun similar to the Cricket compact
length-wise, I mean. The Compact Cricket is said no longer available. I could probably find one used, but truth be told an Edgun Compact Bullpup appeals to me. Maybe I just need something to dream for until the $$ solidify. I’ll visit the product page. My need is for a quiet back-door bull pup (multi-shot, if possible). Edgun bull pup that fits the bill is my preference.

I was out hunting just this past Monday with a guy who claims to own the ONLY .177 Edgun ever imported into the US. It’s a sweet shooter for sure. I would entertain picking one up if they were indeed available.
I would talk to Steve and Tony about availability of the .177s and Compacts at this point. They still advertise them.
Great stuff, SECoda. Thanks for that. I was actually pondering a .177. I didn’t think the Edgun came in that caliber, but .22 will still be fine. I had an older Daystate Harrier in .177 and it was one smaller-than-a-dime-sized hole at 50 yards, and I’m talking 19 shots, not five. It pushed 10.65 grain Barracudas out at 18 fpe. That was plenty of power for urban climes such as mine. Is the Compact Cricket neighbor-friendly? How is it for power? I understand, as I’ve said ,they are not available new anymore. Is that true?

I would put them both in the same category for reliability and accuracy. It used to be Crickets had better local support but they are getting Edgun closer on par now. Cricket used to be more petite and lighter and shorter and Edgun a bit heavier duty but with the loss of the skeleton stock and Compact Cricket it’s evened up a bit. It’s whatever floats your boat between them at this point. Owning both (two of each) I think the Cricket has the edge on disassembly but neither is really hard if you have good tools. I mainly shoot my Compact Cricket .177 and Edgun Standard 30 cal. The .22 Cricket and .25 Edgun get less use.
Which is better constructed as a quality piece? Cricket? Or Edgun. I see that the Edgun short is 4 inches longer than the Cricket Compact. I need a short profile, so it’s between these two.I want something with it’s awesomeness rigt out of the box. Help ,e see the light. guys.

Did you see my post on the .22 Marauder pistol? I call it a poor man’s Lelya but it has a magazine. Mine is very accurate. They can also be heavily modified and accessorized. Good for squirrels, rabbits, and bird sized game. Range is 50-60 yards where I stretch my .177 Compact Cricket to 75-80 yards.
Secoda, I looked at the Leyla, and noted it is a single-shot config. Accuracy is the first requirement, of course, but I also wanted a multi-shot. Ill look a the Leyla again. Maybe I missed something of interest.

Lelya is a bit shorter yet but no magazine. I think if Ed was smart he would pump out more Lelya’s. There is definite niche market for the little guys.

You got to shoot a .177 Edgun?! I wonder how long to get one of those. Also, howcum Edgun doesn’t seem to have issues with the LW barrels? I’l snoop around for info on the Compact Cricket too. .177 is a great caliber for my simple needs (make tiny holes within 50 yards; practice so kill-head shots are doable from the back door! British style!
