Went out to a place I usually reserve for winter shooting. Took my .25 wst cricket and Leica rangefinder. The young pigeons were not too bright. They wanted to land on some spilt grain about 80 yards from my hide. My pickup in the shade of a barn. After I shot one they continued to return. Usually they shy from the dead birds but these seemed drawn to them. Gotta love young birds. I shot 14 straight birds befor a miss. Ranged from 78 – 92 yards. Slight r- l breeze. Figure the holdover hold 2-3 moa off and bam. The 25 cricket at 950 fps just slams them. Even got one double. Also shot 10 or so more but were either on top of barns or in corrals. Thought I’d share a couple photos.

.20 mags?
I bored out the .177 mags to fit the .20, John made me a guide / drill bit combo—-> then it was fast and easy boring out 14 holes. I have a 23″ .20 cal in the works, with the longer barrel I can drop the reg pressure to get more shot count—> My bench rest BP
Cool and those pellets are less expensive than the JSB .177 10.34s. (On Pyramyd)
.20 mags?
.20 Cal Standard shooting at 25fpe 13.7g jsb, even the mags index perfectly. last month shot a Vulture at 60y, he didn’t even get a chance to flap his wings.
I currently own four bullpups (actually five if you count the Marauder .25 with the Maddog conversion) – two Edguns and two Crickets as follows:
.177 Compact Cricket 19 FPE
.22 Standard Cricket 33 FPE
.25 Standard R3 Edgun 50 FPE
.30 Standard R3 Edgun 75 FPE
There is quite bit of overlap between the .22 and .25 for recreational shooting and small game hunting but I would always opt for the .25 and then go with the .177 as the plinker and bird/squirrel/chipmunk hunter for closer range (under 80 yards) and the .25 for distance. Don’t get me wrong – sometime for fun I use whichever I feel like and the 30 cal literally explodes sparrows. 😯 It’s like backyard prairie dog hunting. 😆 JSB is just about to release the 30 cal Predators and I can’t wait.
Nice shooting. I just shot 15 pigeons on top the grain elevators down the road. Your right about one thing. Once you shoot the others will circle around and land again……

My Cricket .25 loves the Predator pellets and they are almost as accurate as the kings. I agree, get a compact before they are gone. I have a .22 and it’s a good complement to the .25
Cricket Compact in .177 if/while they are still available. You will have the Spectrum covered then except for a big bore.
Recommendation for a second gun?
The Compact Cricket at 900 FPS with the 10.34 JSBs kills everything easily up to rabbits and squirrels at 19 FPE ME. It still pops the birds pretty good as well. It goes right through squirrels on head shots. I do limit the range to maybe 75-80 yards on birds and maybe 65-70 on bigger stuff.
I’ve never tried the predators but would like to. I’ve only used the Jsb’s and benji domes. 99 % jsb’s. I’m looking at a second cricket and am undecided on 22 or 177. The 22 seems a little close to the 25 but the 177 seems a little small.
Nice shooting. I usually shoot birds with the Com Cricket .177 and Std .22 but sometimes I use the R3 Std .25 with Predators and it is really wicked at 915 FPS. I was having to scrape the feeders with a stick because the remnants of the sparrows stuck to them.
I have a Leupold RF but I really like the Leica’s.

Had Three .20 conversion kit available and they all spoken for, have to order more 15mm LW barrels from Germany that took one month to get.
