Q:

Just got my .22 Condor SS

Just got my .22 Condor SS yesterday.Put in a Talon Tunes Adjustable Top hat with the smallest insert to start off. JSB 18.1 and
JSB monsters are all I could get my hands on. I’ll try to get some pics of groups. I don’t have a chrony (yet) so there will be no velocity data. If you guys can think of info you would want, let me know.

My first post on TAG, THANK YOU TONY for all your help, and putting up
with my ignorance, repeatedly. I feel I owe you big time!

Forgot to mention that I’m using a TT Adjustable T-hat with the smallest
insert. This was installed on the tank before it was ever fired. I got a couple orings for the stock TH. Does anyone think it would be worth
shooting? I figured the TT top hat would cover all bases, as you can run it with no insert for full power, or choke it down as needed. I’m all ears to any comments, suggestions, or critisism.

Here are some groups shot last night. The first one on cardboard was shot
with about 2500psi.
I shot it down to around 2200psi or so and then let my buddy shoot a bit before I got out the Hill pump. After smacking the shit out of his spinner target, he shot this ten shot group on the dirty bird target. The first 5 shot group was just over an inch. His 10 shot group was just under 2 inches. the psi when he shot the group was around 1800psi. Seems to group pretty damn good at a lower pressure. Next time I’ll let him shoot from 3000 psi, and I’ll shoot at the lower pressures and see if I can group better. Pellets were 18.1 JSB, powerwheel at 5. Both groups shot from 70 yards using a foam rest on a pickup truck window.[/img]

Yep, Those are “K” Baffels alright. 😀 Add a TT Shroud around 9″ long and your looking at Mouse Fart Quiet! 😈

They look like a “K” baffle design.
If you were to add a 6-9 inch shroud/moderator to the frame it would be almost
completely silent.
Thanks for the pics.
Tony

so the sound aint as mentioned in the review by Gaylord . PA also lists it as a 1 low when the Mrod is mentioned as 2 low.
So one would need an external shroud after all !

Good going ❗
Ah shit, I didn’t see page 2. Disregard the following.
Are they all the same length ❓ How many total ❓

Can you see if the front bashing is vented 😕 Take the tank off before looking in the bore end ❗ ❗

Don’t be afraid to move the powerwheel. If you don’t have a chrony you will need one. You are looking for the perfect ratio between pre load (hammer spring, i.e. power wheel and valve/starting fill pressure. Most like to start from the lowest power wheel setting (say 3 or 4) and test from there. 2800 or 2900 psi would be a good starting fill pressure to work from. You are looking for a “bell curve” (lower initial speeds and a good shot count of ideal speeds with the least deviation between shots (10 fps or less) but I have always accepted 20 or less from our AF line. Good luck and testing and tuning is half the fun with this platform.

thankyou very much

When I first got the gun, I put it together and dry fired it with the stock valve on the spot to hear the report. It seemed awful loud to me. Especially after seeing hunting vids with TT shouded guns. So i pulled a Daisy/Buck red ryder type bb gun and did a quick side by side noise comparison. They seem to be abput the same. With the AF gun report being a short “pffft” and the Daisy a longer “pop” sound. This was indoors.
Once outside, in the open, from 30-50 feet away you can hear small air rush from the discharge, but the pellet “Thwack” on the target is far louder. I still have to figure out the power wheel adjustment for the JSB 18.1 gr. I’m a little reluctant to move it as it seems to be shooting quite well. Any words of wisdom on power wheel adjustments? I’m all ears.
Anyway, that was my first impression. Hope to get some shooting in today after work. I’ll try to get some group pics.

Right? I thought so too. I remember reading T. Gaylords write up and he said they looked a little like diabolo pellets seen from the side. I say more like a semi-wad cutter. But hey, what do I know. If you guys want any other pics or info, let me know.

Now that looks different. Those baffles are shaped like a pellet.
