Just sent my RWS 48 out for a tune
Just sent my 48 out to John in PA for a tune. after 20 years of reliable service its time to freshen her up. I just had the stock refinished by a buddy of mine who is a furniture finisher, It Looks to good to touch, I will post pics when I get everything back.

Went to John Thomas house this week in PA to drop off my almost 20 year old 48 that’s been sitting in closet. He seems like a kickass guy. His guns shoot unbelievable. Cant wait to get the gum back. He going to do everything possible to it and he said it will take about a month. Thanks again for everyone’s advice
The gun shoots like a dream, smooth no twang and a beautiful trigger job, light and crisp. I am would like to sell it, not because I don’t like it, but I just don’t use it and have my eyes on a bullpup…. If you know anyone who is nterested, let me know. I wood recommend John Thomas to anyone who needs an RWS tuned..Kevin.
How did he do with the tune on the 48? Im thinking of taking him mine this week.

This RWS was my first “real” adult air rifle I purchased 20 years ago. I had my Benjamin , but this thing put that to shame. Can’t see getting rid of it even though I love my TSS, but there is something about a springer. My RWS feels like a real gun, where as my TSS felt like a cheap piece of shit right out of the box until I threw some money at it with upgrades. Its nice to not worry about an air source, just crank the handle and you are ready to roll.
I sold my RWS350 177 after switching to the dark side… The 350 had character and you were happy to hit things with it – only because it wasn’t a certainty!!!!!!
The TSS isn’t pretty or comfortable – but the thing shoots and shoots great with little maintenance. I can put it on a tiny target and know it’s going to work every time. Plus I can put it in a 26″ gun case, it weighs 6.75lb including scope, and the huge tank keeps on giving.
I think springers rock!!! Something about the self contained powerplant that turns me on! PCP get’s boring accurate sometimes lol! Nothing like the 48 to remind me that I better pay attention
Fills my .22 Daytstate 5 or 6 times.
That is about 120-130 shots if I run out of air on a walk I had the best dam day of my life popping things! 😆
I realize each type of gun has its use for different people.
I cannot and never have been able to shoot a springer as good as a pcp.
There are some people that have no problem with springers mine was deadly out to about 25 yards then my groups broke up. Enough where I would miss a squirrel. First time I shot a squirrel with the Condor at 35 yards or so I was hooked on pcp. (lol sounds funny)

Extended hike where you do not want to pack the fill tank.
You miss your wife and the way she slaps your cheek.
That sort of reasons work for me. 😉
with the deals on low end pcp rifles I see no reason to put up with a springer anymore.
X2 on what P.B. said, I shot my RX-1 a while back and it was a slap in the face lol. The thing jumped so much. I had forgotten how much.
Heck yeah the 48 is a keeper! Vorteked mine! Man she’s super smooth now. Can’t wait till spring squirrel season!!!!
