Q:

kill count so far

15 seagulls
10 crows
2 huge ass lizards
3 huge ass rats, the siza of rabbits i am serious
6 rabbits
1 cayote
1 fox

we went out to my aunt farm about 5 min drive from were we stay at and i was able to kill this in 2 hours. i started out with the rats that are freaking huge here in mexico. i dint believe it at first when my aunt told me, until i seen one running in front of me. then i looked up and seen one up on the wall standing there i was holy crap what is that and shes like a rat. it was about 15 yrs and it was eating the pigs food. thats why they get so big here they eat the other animals food. so thats why their the size of rabbits here. best i can describe it is imagine a possum a large one and thats the size of the rat. i killed 3 when they were running all over the roof and the floor. then after that i went walking for about 200 yrs looking for something to shoot when i heard some truck out in the distance so i went and looked and seen a dump site. its was weird bc i never seen it before but the good thing about it is that there was like 50 seagulls and crows eating the trash. so i loaded my talon ss and shot away. i cant describe the “twack” it was a beautiful sound i was so happy i felt free to shot everything and not worry about getting in trouble. in the end i killed 15 seagulls and 10 crows. then as i was heading back i seen a huge freaking lizard pop put from betwen some rocks so i put my sights on it and “twack” right in the head 20yds. as i walked then its buddy popped out and he i shot his ass too. when i picked them up and laid them on the floor they were about 2 feet long and 3 1/2 inches thick. took then back to the farm and put then in the back of the truck. after that my brother and my uncle and i went rabbit hunting to this field about 10 min from the farm. we walk around for about 30 min looking for rabbits, i killed six and i put my six in the back of the truck and my brother did the same so we then went out about 300 yrds and then headed back we left the truck alone since we were in the middle of no where. as we headed back to the truck i seen something on top of the truck like a dog. i looked through my 32x scope and seen what it was. it was a cayote eating our rabbits son of a bitch!! i loaded a kodiak and turned the power wheel all the way up. i got about 35 yds from the truck and i aimed between his eyes and ears brain shoot. i was nervous i was shacking alot and couldnt keep the gun steady, to much adrenaline. then i squeezed the trigger and heard a “twack” loud one too. then i seen the cayote drop like a sack of potatos. it didnt move at all. so as i went up to it the back of the truck it was full of blood. that sucked bc we needed to clean it up back at the farm. so we walk away with 4 rabbits that were good to eat,2 lizards, and a cayote we dindt eat the lizards or cayote . as we were about to leave bc it was dark out, i heard the chickens making alot of noice went over and seen what i though was another cayote. i backed up and crouched. turned the torche light on on my condor along with my laser. and it turned out being no cayote it was a fox trying to eat the chickens. i was about 20 yrds away i turned the illuminated recitle on my scope and called the fox it turned my way, and my torche light like stunned him bc the dumn ass just stared my way for 1 sec long enough for me to take the shot at his head.

a day at work without a little blood isn’t a day at work at all 😉

Believe it or not….
If only I knew how to post pics…, it is constintine wire, or- razor wire.

I have the correct gloves in order to set it out, but they are slower to use, so no gloves, no jacket, etc.

Needless to say, I got cut up quite a bit…, it was cool 😈 😈

Or a trip wire rigged to some pepper spray. That will give the dogs something to think about. 😆

Or bury strips of it just below the surface under the fence so when the dog starts digging………… 😯 ❓ ❗

Repair that hole with razor wire. 😈

The “Law” is a joke! Nothing but bureaucrat eye wash that gets nothing resolved and make me “the victim” go through hours of useless red tape that ends nowhere. I have pet owners that deny that their pet’s are even doing the destruction to my property although the physical evidence is everywhere and the perpetrator is trapped on my property 70’ from the boundary. To add insult to injury, the pet owner get pissed off at me and demands that I repair the hole in MY fence that THEIR dog made. These are the morons I’m dealing with and I have NO sympathy for them or their pets.

YEA BROTHER!!!

Screw the “goody two shoes” outlook on protecting your own, it just does not work “in real life”, only on paper in in a fantasy world.
Laws are only made to protect those now making the laws…, not guy’s like you & me

That pink flesh dick trap is the worse….you die slowly over 30-50 years. 😛

What a trip…,
I am usually in the minority…, not that I care, but it is strange to be in the majority, for once, LOL!!!

Where I live people are dog crazy. I often see diminutive pet owners walking their dog(s) around the neighborhood. I know that if something happened and the dog tried to break free the owners do not in my opinion possess the physical strength needed to restrain an animal that is twice their size.

I’m with you WJ…. I am NO fan of neighbors who cannot leash their animals properly.

If one gets loose and the owner is trying to get it or it is once or twice a year, something like that is different, things happen…, accidents and the animal gets loose, but th varmints I am talking about is repeat offenders.

I am glad I am not the only one that thinks like this.
I was brought to be a responsible person.
Of course, like most, I had my “moments” growing up…, when I was much younger, but, IMO, if you are a home owner (or renter, etc) and own a pet, I expect you to take care of it
If not…, I will take care of it for you

Nope, you’re not alone. I don’t hold any hatred towards any animal. But I don’t have a problem shooting any animal either, including someone’s pet if it’s out of control and a habitual offender. I think everyone here is civil and tries to deal with it rationally, but some pet owners are too dense and the only way to get through to them is through action. 8) Its always worked for me 😈

Good point…, it ALWAYS works:)

As far as bringing up “the law”. I no longer have a lot of respect for that either.
When politicians get away with things that us “normal folks” would be doing time for, I loose a bit of respect.

When someone rapes and kills someone’s loved one and gets off because of a technicality, I loose a little respect.

When someone molests children and gets off because they have money and are able to either bribe, payoff or otherwise get away with it, I loose a little respect.

After a while, the law means less and less to me and I have come to the conclusion, I have to protect my own…, because no one else will, not even the law.
(BTW, I have NEVER had the police there to protect me, besides, that is not their job)
If you are counting on the law to protect you, you are living a pipe dream
If you are counting on the police to protect you, you are living a pipe dream
If you are counting on the politicians to help you, you are living a pipe dream

If people want to allow varmints to destroy what they have, more power to ya!! I, for one, am NOT one of those types. I tend to stand up for my rights and not lay down and take s#it, from anything or anyone

I would rather be in hot water standing up for what I believe than laying down and being a wuss just because someone else thinks it is wrong, I do have my own mind and my own convictions
I have to protect me, my family and what is mine. I refuse to allow anything to destroy what I have worked for and that is that.

If you are trying to change my mind, forget about it, LOL!! (nor will I change yours and I will not try to)

Ya know, some folks are like this-
If you do not think and do as they do, you are wrong…, now that is what is called narrow minded.

That is what is great about the USA, you can believe what you want and I can do the same…

BTW, I can not get them all…, that is why there is another trap set tonight:)

The trap is the perfect size for what I am catching

I’m going to throw my opinion in here.

First off, dangerous animals. If the neighbors guard dog is in your backyard. If that dog tries to hurt you or a family member, I say shoot it. Note, I’m not saying shoot fluffy when he gets in the backyard, I’m talking about a dog that can pose a serious risk to people’s health.

My neighbors dogs are out all the time. I actually caught one of them in a leg trap. The stupid leg trap wasn’t even supposed to be set, I was away from home, but I accidentally left one set. It wasn’t hooked to anything, so the dog just brought it home. They took it to the vet, it bruised a little but nothing bad. Healed up no problem. I did go appologize, I really didn’t mean to catch the dog, I like the dog. They said it wasn’t a big deal. They know I trap, and they know that the dogs aren’t supposed to be wondering around like that. The only thing they were worried about was a kid getting hurt in one or if one of their smaller dogs getting stuck in it, thinking it would cut through the dog’s small leg. I explained that their dog was bigger than some of the raccoons I’ve caught, and if it cut through the leg it would ruin the point of the trap, to hold things. I told them that the idea was to hold, not to destroy the leg. They agreed and we never had a real problem. That was that.

If I saw that dog out in the woods, I would not shoot it, I wouldn’t do anything. They wonder around. The owners know the risk of coyotes and such, but not a big deal. The dogs don’t hurt anything, so I don’t have a problem with them running around. They are really sweet dogs, I’ll rub on their head as they run up the mountain.

I guess as far as damaging dogs go, it depends. I can’t see the dog doing a whole lot of damage, enough that it would give a reason to kill it. Digging up flowers or something, get one of those electric fence wires and run it through there, it will hurt the dog, and it will stop digging there. If the dog is pooping in your yard, scoop it up on a shovel, and put it in front of the owners door. After a couple of times, they will get the point. But I don’t think it’s necessary to actually kill the dog.

I’m by no means a goody-two-shoes hunter. I am not picky on what animals I shoot, I’ll shoot a blue jay if the oppurtunity comes up. Some people say that it’s horrible to do that, I don’t think it’s such a big deal. But I do draw the line at pets.

Now, stray dogs I put in the same category as coyotes and the like. They are fair game.
