we went out to my aunt farm about 5 min drive from were we stay at and i was able to kill this in 2 hours. i started out with the rats that are freaking huge here in mexico. i dint believe it at first when my aunt told me, until i seen one running in front of me. then i looked up and seen one up on the wall standing there i was holy crap what is that and shes like a rat. it was about 15 yrs and it was eating the pigs food. thats why they get so big here they eat the other animals food. so thats why their the size of rabbits here. best i can describe it is imagine a possum a large one and thats the size of the rat. i killed 3 when they were running all over the roof and the floor. then after that i went walking for about 200 yrs looking for something to shoot when i heard some truck out in the distance so i went and looked and seen a dump site. its was weird bc i never seen it before but the good thing about it is that there was like 50 seagulls and crows eating the trash. so i loaded my talon ss and shot away. i cant describe the “twack” it was a beautiful sound i was so happy i felt free to shot everything and not worry about getting in trouble. in the end i killed 15 seagulls and 10 crows. then as i was heading back i seen a huge freaking lizard pop put from betwen some rocks so i put my sights on it and “twack” right in the head 20yds. as i walked then its buddy popped out and he i shot his ass too. when i picked them up and laid them on the floor they were about 2 feet long and 3 1/2 inches thick. took then back to the farm and put then in the back of the truck. after that my brother and my uncle and i went rabbit hunting to this field about 10 min from the farm. we walk around for about 30 min looking for rabbits, i killed six and i put my six in the back of the truck and my brother did the same so we then went out about 300 yrds and then headed back we left the truck alone since we were in the middle of no where. as we headed back to the truck i seen something on top of the truck like a dog. i looked through my 32x scope and seen what it was. it was a cayote eating our rabbits son of a bitch!! i loaded a kodiak and turned the power wheel all the way up. i got about 35 yds from the truck and i aimed between his eyes and ears brain shoot. i was nervous i was shacking alot and couldnt keep the gun steady, to much adrenaline. then i squeezed the trigger and heard a “twack” loud one too. then i seen the cayote drop like a sack of potatos. it didnt move at all. so as i went up to it the back of the truck it was full of blood. that sucked bc we needed to clean it up back at the farm. so we walk away with 4 rabbits that were good to eat,2 lizards, and a cayote we dindt eat the lizards or cayote . as we were about to leave bc it was dark out, i heard the chickens making alot of noice went over and seen what i though was another cayote. i backed up and crouched. turned the torche light on on my condor along with my laser. and it turned out being no cayote it was a fox trying to eat the chickens. i was about 20 yrds away i turned the illuminated recitle on my scope and called the fox it turned my way, and my torche light like stunned him bc the dumn ass just stared my way for 1 sec long enough for me to take the shot at his head.

If one gets loose and the owner is trying to get it or it is once or twice a year, something like that is different, things happen…, accidents and the animal gets loose, but th varmints I am talking about is repeat offenders.
I am glad I am not the only one that thinks like this.
I was brought to be a responsible person.
Of course, like most, I had my “moments” growing up…, when I was much younger, but, IMO, if you are a home owner (or renter, etc) and own a pet, I expect you to take care of it
If not…, I will take care of it for you 👿 😈
Where I live people are dog crazy. I often see diminutive pet owners walking their dog(s) around the neighborhood. I know that if something happened and the dog tried to break free the owners do not in my opinion possess the physical strength needed to restrain an animal that is twice their size.

If every pet owner acted responsibly, we wouldn’t have a problem with other peoples animals being destructive towards property.
Attitude has everything to do with the problem. I’m bordered by 4 homes with a total of 14 dogs. Two of the “owners” have every excuse in the book for why their animals misbehave, except for why they can’t control the problem. So I’ve resorted to trapping them and having animal control come pick them up.
I’ve also gone on record with the Police, Animal Control and my District Councilman that I have no problems shooting them if trapping doesn’t resolve the problem. I was advised by the Police that shooting dogs is illegal EXCEPT if it threatens mine or someone else’s safety. Hint, hint, nudge, nudge.

Hmmm, I am “always” threatened” by the animals 😈
Example, one person “had” a yard full of dogs.
They kept getting out and destroying my wifes garden.
I caught one of the dogs in a live trap so I could “prove” whose dog it was.
I very nicely asked him to please keep his dogs home and nicely explained why and what they were doing.
He got pissed and said he could not keep them in and that it is not his fault or problem (they looked to be expensive, pure breed dogs to me)
The next one in the yard was a dead dog.
He(“somehow”) learned how to keep the remaining dogs in the yard- problem solved 😉
The moral of the story?
People do exactly what they want to do…

I just came in from telling my pets how much I love them and that I would never allow them to roam the neighborhood causing destruction and despair to other neighbors, thus pissing them off and having the risk of some “crazy” pop a cap in their ass, or worse:)

I have NO problem at all shooting and/or killing something…, anything, that is destroying what I and my wife have worked so hard to have and that makes us happy for the short time we are on earth.
If someone wants a pet, no problem, I have 4, however, I do love them and as such, keep them protected and care for them…, I do not allow them to S#it all over the neighborhood and tear up neighbors $20,000 – $50,000 automobiles
I am what is called a RESPONSIBLE pet owner…, not someone who either buys or in most cases is given an animal to fend for itself.
If anything, I put them out of their misery 8)

Yes, I do give a warning. Something is given a chance.
I call or go to the neighbor that “has” (not owns, as they are not “home) the animal, lets them know it is out, in my yard, running loose, etc, etc.
Most cases is an attitude, so, if they do not care, I do not either, so what, LOL!!!
No, I do not have a conscience for destructive varmints or the “hasers”.
Shoot them and let the crows sort them out, LOL!!

So you don’t shoot living things because it makes you feel bad, but you’ve no problems shooting someone’s *family pet*?
Leash laws (or lack) not withstanding, I strongly suspect it’s illegal where you are.
Do you follow the strength of your convictions and tell the neighbors you consider their pets fair game should they wonder near you?

With that said, I have shot many varmints and destructive critters, such as dogs and cats.
When owners of these animals will start paying for new paint on my scratched up vehicles, the cost of dug up plants in the yard, the agrivation of stepping in a “pile” in the yard, etc, etc., as well as for the loss of use while getting painted, labor for landscaping, clean up time, etc, etc., only then will I stop shooting and killing the varmints. Until then, it is a free for all and a Condor does a wonderful job:)
I’d watch the seaguls and crows. No matter what you may think of the locals and their not caring, both these species are Migratory birds protected by the same treaty in Mexico as they are in the US.
Crows only in season and under license, and seaguls protected without a permit from the Federal Government. Best to keep your bases covered, IMO.
The simple ‘turth’ is those birds don’t belong to Mexico (any more than they belong to the US when thery’re up here), the locals cannot give their permission. It is a Federal bust.
Misplay your hand ‘down there’ and loss of your guns might be the least of your worries.

So I to am no fan of folks who’s dogs create problems, but the law is the law.
There are legal ways to deal with this, and legal recourse to recover your losses. Animal Control, the Police and the courts. “Taking the law into your own hands” is not, IMO a good ‘solution’.
Funny, being responsible comes up. It is responsible airgun ownership to use yours to poach? I assume nobody has ‘Dog tags’ to go with their Hunting Licenses? Where most folks live, shooting targets in the back yard is illegal, hunting for sure is. Even what they consider pests. And intentionally destroying the property of another is what it is. Even if that property isn’t potentially a child’s pet.
I asked if folks followed their convictions that they were doing right by telling their neighbors that they would shoot any pet that came too close. I got a lame ‘I’ tell the owners that their pet is on my property, if I don’t think they care enough, I feel free to go ahead and shoot them’. I don’t’ think that covers it. If you did right, how about calling the Police and telling them what you did? Or the owners after the fact?
I agree, neighbor’s dogs can be a problem, I have neighbors with dogs as well. But illegally shooting them with an airgun just because you’d get caught using a ‘real gun’ is not the solution to be promoting.
And of course there generally are no leash laws for cats, their being in your yard itself is not illegal. The owner is still responsible for damage, of course.
I’m all for responsibility of owners for their pets. I’m also strong on that same responsibility on the part of gun owners. And that includes airgun owners. In one case (dog off his leash) we have a infraction, in the other a misdemeanor if not a felony (depending on how they play it). I have no trouble seeing which is the bigger sin.
