Q:

Knowing what you now know, where would you start………..

………with Air Force rifles?

Of course, I want a rifle that will do it all 🙄

I’m looking for a hunting rifle that will have double duty as my kid’s plinking and Hunter Field Target gun.

Based on what I’ve read here on the board, I’m thinking that the Condor is the most versatile platform.

Is it correct that the power of the rifle is derived from the tank and valve/top hat configuration?

If this is so, then switching to the micro meter tank makes it into a docile basement plinker, right? Are there other changes required besides a barrel change and tank change?

I would like to start out with a tuned, shrouded Condor in .22 for hunting.

Then my next purchase would be a .177 barrel and micro meter tank.

Then the .25. I’m assuming that this barrel would require it’s own shroud, correct?

I know this is all old hat to you guys that have been around for a while, but it all seems to run together to me. Thanks for all your help and all input is welcome.

Considering what they have to offer I would go with the SS. My ideal airguns must be accurate and QUIET!

Now Airforce should pay attention and offer a new version of the SS based on my gun 😆 What they should make is a gun with a 16″ barrel with a vented bushing and extend the frame 8″. Then they should rework the talon valve or include the new condor valve.

This would provide a gun that is still within normal hunting airgun length of about 42″ long. It would be fully shroud and quiet with a lot of power throwing CP’s over 950-1000fps. While they are at it they need to increase the thickness of the frame in the breech area and scope rail.

This would fit in between the SS and Condor

You ask for several varied specs from a family of weapons. You ask a lot. I own a Condor in .22, a Talon SS and a Talon converted to .25 by a pro (the last kept in trust for a member here). Each has its own use.

As far as ‘all things for all uses’…no vote. AKULA

The Talonss is quiet and not an air hog. Perfect for my backyard which I shoot 90 percent of the time. I don’t need the Condor power. If I didn’t have neighbors Condor Condor Condor.

I am really happy with my TSS. For my purpose I am not sure one gun will do it all but the TSS comes close. I want to be able to drop to low velocity for shooting in barns/sheds, then crank it up for outside shooting. This plan is working, but my outer range is limited by velocity in the 12″ barrel.

I started with the Talon and the Condor will do all it can do and more…

Condor all the way!!!

12″ barrel for the CondorSS & 24″ for the full force of the Condor’s wrath… 😉

Only airforce gun I have is the condor. It was my first pcp. Knowing what I do now, I don’t think I’d get anything else. I’d stick with a condor. If I decided I wanted lots of shots at lower power, I’d go get a micro meter tank. So, condor for me. 🙂
