Lama’s new toy!
Woo! My birthday a few days ago, second ammendment is still there, and life is great. Decided to celebrate with a new gun. 🙂

Kel-tec plr-16. I’m going to go shoot it sometime, just have to find a break in work. .223 handgun, should be exciting. Supposed to be extremely loud. I can’t wait. 🙂
It’s a beauty, that’s for sure.

That’s exactly right, B&B. I was there between the riot and the verdict, (the ’92 Rodney King riot, and the Dameon “Football” Williams verdict. He was the kid who caved in the trucker’s head in at Florence and Normandy with a brick). I remember days when there was standing room only. People would come in and take a number and then go home. Later they would call and ask what number we were helping so that they could gauge when to return. That was an interesting time too say the least.
That would have been B&B.
Alot have closed like Pony Express,
Sherwood and others I dont remember.
Steve, what gunshop did ya work in? Was it the one that the cops took guns out of during that North Hollywood bank robbery? That place was my favorite. Now i have to settle for TURNERS Outdoorsman. Already have 4 Mags. Thanx for the advice also. I fell in love with the Glock from the start cause i have LONG fingers and on all my pistols i had Pachmyer finger groove grips to make the guns grip thicker. With the Glock, i don’t need the pachmyers (mispelled i know). Having owned a .357 mag for some years helped me handle that 10mm which is about the most recoil i like and that i can shoot accuratly and all day. 44 mag and up….KEEP EM.
You are alright Lama…best of luck to you. 😀
I’m with you on the “to each, his own” thing. My dad has a ruger p95, and loves it. I love this gun. It’s borderline rifle. I’ve read it’s actually against the law to put a vertical grip on the front, because that makes it too much like a rifle.
This thing definately has that “evil” look to it. If you were anti gun, you would see no point in a gun like this except to kill somebody. But, to us gun lovers, it’s a fun gun. Might can even go hunting with it. I love it, can’t wait to go shoot it. Thanks for the advice, I’ll be sure to go buy some more magazines before they are outlawed.
Stupid anti gun people. They ruin all the fun.
Hi Lama, That is a sexy pistol, but it is not what I like in a pistol. For a while I worked in a gun store here in L.A.. I used to tell people that guns are like shoes and they all fit us differently. What fits me may not fit you and vice versa. If you are happy, then I’m happy for you. I really do think that pistol is sexy.
The bigger picture is that we as sportsmen do not allow the anti-gun crowd to divide us among ourselves. For example, shotgun hunters taking a stand against tactical shotgunners. Both use semi-auto shotguns, but the tactical guns “look” deadly, or sinister. Now the anti’s have turned one group against the other. Make no mistake about it, the anti’s want to ban ALL semi-automatic shotguns. Their sporting use language is just a ploy as they try to divide and conquer us.
Therefore, I fully support and appluad your your new Keltec, (buy lots of magazines to support ti while you can). Furthermore, I am very pleased that you are a trustworthy young man that benefits our great country. 😀
Tofazfou, I am pleased that are enjoying your Glock. The model 20 is a great 10mm in that the polymer frame absorbs the mighty recoil of the 10mm. Many other tens have suffered from cracked frames from the severe recoil. You are clearly an accomplished pistolero to be so proficient with it from the get go.
Are you aware that the Glock is the only pistol that continues to function even when the spring breaks? You can actually remove the spring and by holding the trigger down completely while the slide fully cycles, the trigger mechanism will reset itself. Just too cool. Glocks are one of those weapons that you either like, or don’t. I was selling so many of them that I decided to buy one and it grew on me. That was a model 21 in .45 ACP. Great pistol. Again, stock up on magazines while you can.
Here in California we are stuck with a ten round limit thanks to Diane Feinstein.
That’s ok. 🙂
Good to see you here tofaz.
Nice pistol choices CYG. Yeah, cali rules and regs suck but, that is a whole other post. Good luck.
Steve, i just got myself a GLOCK 20/10mm and man does she rock and roll. 1 gallon water jugs at 50 yrds are a piece of cake. Of course i just added a 5.3″ ported match barrel. I love my GLOCK. My springfield armory .45 ACP is a little jealous.
Oh, sorry about thread jacking but i just got a little excited. 🙂
Hi Cygnus, how is SF treating you?
With regard to shotguns, the three round limit, 2 in the magazine and 1 in the chamber is for hunting. Shotguns for home defense or other tactical uses do not need to be “plugged”. Rifles that are used for hunting are limited to five rounds total, 4 in the magazine and 1 in the chamber. Rifles that are used for sporting purposes, target shooting, and defenseive applications are not limited. Only magazines that have been purchased after 1994 are limited to the ten rounds. If you own magazines that were purchased before 1994, you may still use them. However, the law requires that you don’t loan them to anyone…especially anyone on the range, where big brother might be observing you. My hi-capacity magazines live in the safe, only 10 rounders go to the range to avoid problems. If I have made a mistake, please correct me.
Personally, I think that you should look into an M-1A by Springfield Armory. They are pricey, but they are the best available in CA. I prefer the Squad Scout model, and of course you can never go wrong with a Glock. The Model 22 tames the .40 S&W nicely. The model 30 tames the .45 ACP like no other…in my opinion.
As always, join the NRA!
on the AR15 you gotta feed it through the ejection port i belive…akward and stupid….some of the models the bottom reciever is one piece with magazine well…cant undo those…on others you need to use a tool to remove the magazine….
the ones where you need a tool to remove the magazine…you can order a 30 round clip online…and use that ….however if you get caught…uhohhh
on the P90 i read that its doesnt have to be welded, but you will need tools to remove the mag….to say the least a p9 wouldnt be much fun…but you can buy one
there are ways around some of the laws…
shotguns max 3 shells in the mag…on shotguns that take more you have to put a lengt of something inthere to limit the capasity, and it may not be easily removed
im not totally into the laws here yet….this is just what i have picked up on various forums….
i dont mind having a plugged ar15, 10 shots is fine for hunting…and for plinking well…its ok allthough it would be easier to just pop another 10 rd mag in there
You have to ruin the gun and weld the clip to the frame? How do you load it? Some guns it would be next to impossible to feed the rounds through the gun into the mag.
man i envy you little bastard 😆
i shouldnt complain though, MA didnt allow anything but long rifles for a guy like me(greencard) not even an ar15 full lenght or nothing….
CA on the other hand allows me to buy handguns…i just gotta be in the state for 3 month before i can do it an theres a ….10 day waiting period…uhhhh, in MA FBI allways delayed my buys with 7 days so not much different.
gonna me an H&K USP Tactical, in either .40SW or .45 …i cant wait
i dont even think i need anything really to buy a long rifle other than the waiting period…..only thin is their magazine laws ….like the have to be welded to the frame on a ar15….and no more than 10 shots…if you buy a P90 its the same 10 shots max…whats the point in a P90 with just 10 shots ?!?!?! better than nothing though…bet full auto weapons are not allowed too…everyone was saying how bad CA is…well i think MA gunlaws are worse at least for someone like me
happy B day and awesame present there !
Ha, I’m not that lucky. My dad signs for it, so I guess “technically” it belongs to him. But I pay for it, and it stays with me, so it’s mine. 🙂 It just has to have his name.
Maybe its just me… but wouldn’t it be better to start with a .22lr pistol or something?
I bought a 300 ultra mag. I start up and go down. 😛
But I do have a couple of .22lr pistols.
