Left flyers
I recorded my pellets coming out of My 22. Matador and found that they are flying off to the left.
I’m in the uk so it’s shooting 11lb could this be the reason? I’m using 18.13 grain pellets

maybe I used the wrong ” green leaves” on my fire? I picked them from my hippy neigbors garden..I dont like him much.. He seems to aways have his lights on all night and a Bob Marley cd seems to be jammed in his cd player as its the only damn album he plays..

This may sound a bit dumb but how do I know if I’m firing the right head size ?
most people try lots of different batches and shoot loads of groups at various ranges to see which gives the tightest group, If you find a pellet that groups well try it at multiple ranges as even an unstable pellet can have the same POI at a fixed range but the POI will change drastically at even eg only 2 feet further.

Both speed and head size can cause this corkscrew instability. I shoot all my new guns with various pellets at 100 meters with the high speed scope cam fitted to determine the best head size and speed for it. It saves a lot of pellets and bench work.
Try the 14.3gr pellets myself and others have suggested first as they should get you shooting stable at 12 ftlbs, Like I said you may be able to shoot the 15.89gr to but the my not remain stable past about 40 yards..

both too fast and too slow will do it and the wrong head size will mean you cant shoot them as fast as you could with the correct head size.
The 18.13gr pellet will not be stable at 540ish fps as it too long and heavy in the Edguns twist rate at that low velocity.
You need to drop to the 14.3gr @ 600-610fps or maybe try the 15.89gr JSBs @ 570-580fps first.
All pellets have a window of velocity at which its stable for a certain range in any given twist rate, The 18.13gr is stable between 740-950 fps in the Edguns twist. The range in which it remains stable will depend on muzzle velocity and atmospheric conditions.
I have two tunes for my Matador, one for the summer: 935fps and one for the winter months: 915fps. A pellet from my rifle shot at 935fps in the cold winter months is unstable and will cork screw so it requires a slightly lower speed to prevent this happening..

So your saying the cork screw affect is due to the fps being to high for the pellet
Without seeing your video (you have it listed as private so no one can view it) its hard to make a call but Id say its not a head size issue but a weight issue.

Yes. The label says that. However,as it seems that´s not the case since there´s a variance of a couple of 100th of a millimeter both up/down in those tins. JSB,AA,FX and probably most OR all brands have this issue. The only way to be sure is to measure them with a proper,accurate tool. The bottom of that tin says 5.52 nevertheless.

Is the 5,52 the size of this pellet ?
There’ several sizes. 5.48 – 5.55 is what i’ve seen,not counting the old .22 cal 5.56. JSB & H&N , among others has a label in the bottom of the tin indicating the actual size. Unfortunately that says very little since the size differs between the pellets regardless what they’re labeled as.

I was led to believe that all 22. Was 5.5 mm I’ve got 3 different brands of 18.13 grain and on the tin states 5.5mm
Yes. Maybe. I don´t know. I´d said “yes”, definitely, untill i read some of the Wingmans posts about the pellet head size/spiraling etc. so now i´m not sure whether the spiraling in high velocities is due the “wrong” head size or due the speed of the pellet.
