That’s a very good idea. John Hagan would be a likely machinist if you don’t have one handy locally. All metal ‘stems’ gives a body some peace of mind about such things. For all we know, Ernest may have a valve stem that works for the little tool. Remove the valve stem as a factor, then all that’s left is essentially the O-rings as maintenance items. Those spares would fit in the buttstock.
Still, the stem would likely still need a sealing washer at the base of the stem head where it returns to seal off the valve after shooting. That item would likely last a long time before needing replacement.

The normal version is also a backyard sniper with very big lungs (400 cc) 😀
