The Leyla’s size has nothing to do with it’s ability to shoot long range. A 12″ barrel will shoot just as far and just as accurate as a 24″ barrel, so small size isn’t a factor. The only difference the shorter barrel makes is it will take more air to achieve the longer range than a more air-efficient long barrel would.
You can shoot with the big boys all day long at 100-200 meters and get the same results. You will simply use more air doing so!
I no longer shoot at 100 meters+ distance. Now, I simply drive my truck down there, and stomp on whatever it is bothering me…then I stick it with my Buck knife…then I spit on it!

out of curiosity but if I’m not mistaken there was still a pending order of Lelyas from your side (before the US order) but you said also something at a certain point about recent restrictions on importing “short airguns” to your country, have those “restrictions” have been lifted?

As far as I remember no…. but I don’t think you will shoot at the same long range as the matador.
But since Ed is currently running the production process (at least this is what we all hope) maybe this can still be done (if he becomes aware of this requirement).
Does the Lelya have a sloped picatinny rail like the Matador?

Don’t know the waiting time for the Taipan Mutant Short but I heard the worst marketing mistake you can do is advertising a product that is not available or will not be available within a reasonable time.
Apparently at Taipan (or Mutant) till now they did everything well so I hope they did not make this mistake.

If I may address you without being impolite. :biggrinn: Your experience and insights that you’ve shared thus far has really helped shaped the way I feel about owning an Edgun. The airgun gods felt that I wasn’t worthy of owning an Edgun/Lelya. Perhaps owning a Mutant Taipan Shorty .22 will take less waiting time eh? For now I am waiting on a delivery of a Smithy lathe/mill machine combo. Dropped the price of two Lelyas for a Smithy. :suprisedn:
